How do you check the automatic transmission fluid level on a 6 cylinder 2007 Saturn Aura?

Look in the maintenance manual if you have one that came with the car. The 3.5 litre doesn't have this option. It just says the filter and fluid need to be replaced at 50K miles or if it is leaking then take it in for a check. The 3.6 liter you can check but apparently it is difficult and is recommended to be taken to a shop for that.

How do you change the transmission filter on a 1998 Saturn sw2?

The same way you would change an oil filter. It's located on the front of the trans --------------------- A transmission filter can be bought at a dealer or an autoparts store. Note that the filter is DIFFERENT than an oil filter. Though both are twist on filters the sizes are not the same. Be sure to accurately refill the transmission filter with the appropriate amount of fluid

How do you bypass lojack on 98 Saturn sl?

Take the LoJack off the car and tape it to the undercarriage of someone's car on the other side of town. LoJack is powered by both the car's battery and an internal battery, so it has to be located somewhere in the car that has access to car battery power, although this may not always be the case depending on the version of LoJack (depends on the internal batter of the item). LoJack is about the size of a deck of cards, and when activated sends a signal on what equates channel 7 in television frequency. You might try to use a different device to equate the frequence or to try to jam it (over-ride the frequency). Of course, I don't know why anyone would put LoJack on a 98 Saturn - the vehicie blue book can't be over $2500.00, and LoJack will cost nearly $750.00. Inspect the vehicle closely to determine where it is as there are the obvious places to look such as in the wheel wells and somewhere in the undercarriage, but also within door panels, inside seats and under headliners, carpet and within other components (or under the dash). If you really want to find it it sends a signal at the Channel 7 VHF range - get a signal finder at Radio Shack and walk around your car looking for a strong signal.

What does Saturn DTC code P1301 mean?

: according to my code scanner book, P1300 is GM-specific for "Ignition Coil #1 Primary Feedback Circuit". P1305 is for coil#2, P1310 for coil #3, etc. : I'm getting a P1301 right now, along with a P0301, cyl#1 misfire. So I'm guessing that the P1301 is also related to coil/misfire issues and am going to replace that coil and see if it helps.

How do you replace the front crankshaft seal on a 1993 Saturn sl2?

First you will need to remove the Harmonic Balancer pulley from the engine. This may prove to be difficult being the bolt that holds the pulley on is tightened to 220ft lbs. once the bolt is removed the pulley should just slide off. behind the pulley is the front crankshaft seal, use a good seal remover tool to pry the old seal out. reinstall the new seal with a seal installation tool. make sure the crank pulley is tightened back to 220ft lbs.

Where can i find a Shift cable bushing for 1999 Saturn?

A new bushing can be found at many GM dealers. Search your area for the dealership that has taken over the Saturn parts inventory.

If you are willing to install used parts, some used bushings are still in reasonable condition, but be selective.

Another PerspectiveI agree that those bushings are available, but they are exactly like the bushings that failed. The ones I recommended are of a different composition and are guaranteed to not fail for the life of the vehicle. You can't say that about the GM replacement parts.

Saturn l300 transmission plug location?

Where is the tranmission drain plug for my 02 Saturn L300?

Answer:

Sorry, no drain plug.

To drain the fluid you need to remove the pan, then to replace the pan you'll need to use a new gasket.

The filter is inside the pan and there is no valid reason to drain the fluid without replacing the filter.

Refilling the transmission fluid is another issue for newer vehicles. You won't find the familiar fill tube/dipstick that you've seen in the past. There should be a fill hole on the side of the transmission. You simply pump the fluid into the transmission using the fill hole then when the fluid level is even with the bottom of the hole, it's full. Make sure you've run the engine long enough to fill the torque converter and hydraulic lines, then check the level again.

What type of motor oil needed for a 1994 Saturn SL2 1.9 liter engine?

If it has more that 80,000 to 100,000 miles, I would run 10W-40 Castrol or Valvoline. I would use 10W-30 weight of the same brands for low mileage engines.

I would strongly recommend a synthetic of a reputable brand or at least a part synthetic. The wal-mart brand has a good half and half. This oil is more expensive, but if you keep the filter changed(oil and air) you want have to change oil nearly as often and the synthetic is much better than regular oil.

1999 Saturn SC1?

Okay, you have a Saturn SC1.

Another observation:It's a vehicle. It came with 4 tires, a glass windshield and operates on unleaded fuel.

Is a Saturn reliable after 100000 miles?

I have a 1995 Saturn with 170,000 miles on it. It still runs well. Some oil leakage into the engine that cannot be fixed. Aside from having to replenish oil more often than I would normally, it drives well with little maintenance for a 12 year old car. I would buy a Saturn again. Most cars today run well over 100,000 miles provided the car is maintained properly. One of the most critical concerns should be keeping up the regular oil changes. Change the oil at least every 3,000 miles. However, if the car is not driven many miles per week, you might even consider changing the oil every 2,000 miles. Regular oil changes are extremely important.

What are the dangers of driving with a blown head gasket?

With a blown head gasket coolant and oil mix together. This reduces the oil viscosity and can lead to bearing failures and complete engine failure. When oil gets mixed in the coolant the coolant looses its capacity to cool and the vehicle can overheat.
