Why do P-traps come in different sizes and how are the dimensions measured?
Basic size classification is related to the size of the pipe being used. Specialized "p" traps are used for specialty applications. If you have questions concerning your application, contact a plumber or a qualified plumbing supply sales representative.
Are nickel plated saxophones better then lacquered saxophones?
No they just look cooler and most band or orchestra directors won't let you use one because they are distracting.
Where did Sindey Bechet purchase his soprano saxophone?
Sidney Bechet had purchased a used soprano sax - a curved model - in a Chicago pawn shop while he was playing clarinet with several bands. He was not successful with that instrument and returned it.
He was a noted clarinetist when he arrived in London in 1919 and purchased a new straight soprano sax J A La Fleur's shop there. He played clarinet and the straight soprano for much of his career. He was know to have played a Buescher True-Tone, but whether that is what he purchased in Londen isn't known. Bechet almost certainly had several different instruments throughout his career.
How many other types of saxophones are there besides the eb alto saxophone?
The most common types of saxophones you will find in concert bands and such are the
Bb tenor,
Eb alto,
Eb barry (baritone)
saxophones. Another common type is the
Bb soprano.
There are many different types of saxophones, though, so don't be surprised if, for example, you find a C soprano and a Bb soprano or whatever. They're still both saxes.
Hope this helped.
The tenor sax always plays a whole tone above concert pitch instruments like the organ. If the organist is playing in C then the tenor sax plays in D. This is because when you play lin key of C on the tenor sax you are playing in Bb concert. So you always have to raise your pitch by a whole tone in order to be in tune with the concert pitch instruments
Which is bigger out the tenor and alto saxophone?
The yenor saxophone is definately better because the notes are more powerful and less squeeky than the alto.
There is no such thing as a treble saxophone. From high to low, it goes like this: sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, contra-bass. Saxophones also have different pitches within those groupings. For example, the alto is usually in E flat. There is also the F, and C. However, I believe all saxes below the baritone are played in the bass clef, which would make all higher saxophones until the alto treble instrument, smeaning they play in the treble clef. I am not sure about soprano and sopranino.

Is it true that an average saxophone's range is b flat to f sharp?
It depends on the saxophone and how skilled the player may be.
The official range is from low Bb to High F. Although if you have an altissimo saxophone, you are able to play High F#. You can just about play any note you want in altissimo range, it doesn't have to require any additional buttons.
Some skilled players can reach notes up to 5 ledger lines above the treble clef at a high C. Some players are able to go as high as their lips can handle. (Requires a lot of practice and skill)
What is the best brand of alto saxophones?
In my opinion the best known model of alto saxophone is a Selmer Mark VI. Most people consider Selmer to be of the highest quality. However, it all depends on personal preference and what kind of mouth piece, ligature and reed you are using. Other great brands are Cannonball and Yanagisawa. If you are saxophone shopping be sure to try out the actual saxophone that you are interested in because a brand can mean nothing if you're not comfortable on it.

What are facts about about the saxophone?
The saxophone is made of a cheaper metal, (often brass) and then lacquered in gold to give it its appealing look. The saxophone uses a reed, which vibrates against the mouthpiece to produce vibrations which result in sound. When you depress the keys on a saxophone, it lengthens or shortens the 'pipe' in the saxophone which will determine the pitch of the saxophone. the saxophone has pads which press against the key holes to make airtight seals, and the fingerkeys are often made of Mother-of-Pearl. The reed is attached to the mouthpiece with something called a ligature, which securely holds the reed in place. There are 4 common sizes of saxophone, and in order from smallest to largest they are, Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone. Saxophones often have 3 parts; the body, the neck and the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is attached to the neck and then the neck is attached to the body. These are just some of the millions of facts about the saxophone.

Alto Sax, I'll give you the notes, but you find the beat. This is the shortened version, it's the only one I have. It's still catchy:

Nightboat to cairo notes on alto saxophone?
The song changes key a few times. It starts with a Jewish hitzas scale in Am using the notes A C# E, it goes up a fourth and repeats the same riff starting with D. The solos are had to replicate because they are incorrectly fingered, out of tune and overblown, but that style makes it. I have to play clean cut solos over madness, because I'm a smooth jazz musician. Love madness. www.shawsax.co.UK Chris Shaw, international artiste.
They are not rare. C melody saxes from the 1920's and 1930's are still easily found, and at least one manufacturer - Aquilasax - has made them recently.
