Foreshadowing are clues that the author subtly gives in the story, to make us question or expect something to happen. It's easy to spot these clues, if you think about the things the character or characters think/say. There are many more Foreshadowing clues to find!

One metaphor in the book "The Outsiders" is when Ponyboy describes the differences between the Socs and the Greasers by comparing them to the colors of the sky at sunset. This can be found on page 40 of the novel.
