I have been on seroquel for years & my dr. says it's not addicting. However on nights when I forget to take it I always wake up sweating & shaking & also have nausea. I believe it's withdrawal sypmtoms. I would be very careful taking this medication.

A high dose (!) of antipsychotics makes you a little bit slowed down, "overcalm", bit numb/sedated as a side effect.
Energy drinks (combined with antipsychotics) makes you less like that, more lively.

(I wouldn't recommend though Seroquel or any other stuff like that, if you don't have prescription, 'cos if you're "normal", a normal dose will totally pass you out, sleeping all day, everywhere like a log. A real extreme dose maybe into coma.)

I watched it for about 3that minutes and developed a profound hatred for the animal. It was an indescribable inner rage that send electricity and anger from my eyebrows to toes. The dog would not stop barking. We put it in the kennel and draped a blanket over it. Nothing helped. Finally, out of sheer desperation, I cut off a 200+ mg sliver of my Seroquel® pill, hid it inside a huge chunk of cheese, and gave it to Charlie. About 15 minutes later that dog had phlegm boiling out of its mouth and was straight up unconscious. Like a "Knockout Game" victim. 10 hours and 2 feces accidents later, the dog awoke. About ten minutes after that its clueless owners came back for it. (? why why why would anyone even want an animal like that?) Anyway, that's that. Will never watch a poodle again!
The significant interaction is that the medication combination can have additive effects causing more sleepiness and increased CNS depression. In some cases people have a very difficult time functioning because they are so tired. Those side effects would occur almost immediately so if you are tolerating the medication now that should not be an issue.
Also if you have a personal or family history of diabetes or other major metabolic problems then there is an increased risk (although it is rare) for developing diabetes, even more uncommon potential problems are neuroleptic malignant syndrome or serotonin syndrome. Using both Seroquel and Cymbalta do increase these risks however the majority of the risk comes from Seroquel. Seroquel can also cause tardive dyskinesia, a serious movement disorder that typically lasts for years (and often for life). However most people, especially those with bipolar or a psychotic disorder don't have any of these rare reactions.
Overall the medications are not strange at all. Granted it is a very sedating combination and that is the primary thing you need to be aware of.
It may also be worth talking with your doctor if you find you are tired a lot or you are having other side effects.
As for addiction you do take two controlled substances, Klonopin and Ativan. However neither drug is significantly addictive. Benzodiazepines, the class of drugs Klonopin and Ativan are in,
have been shown to have a moderate abuse liability in animal and human testing. It is important to avoid increasing the dose of either drug, especially the Klonopin since you take it every day. As long as you do not start dose escalation (taking more without doctor approval) addiction is rare. In fact 80-90% of benzodiazepine addicts have a separate active addiction to something like heroin, alcohol, or cocaine and they use the benzodiazepines to augment other drugs or help them "come down" of off stimulants.
AnswerIIII:Yes, you need to be careful with Alcohol for sure. I would then susspect addictions too. I am on Seroquel and have had a bad reaction with Alcohol.My doctor always says to me,"One should never drink alcohol with Seroquel. The Pharmacist,tells me it is not advisable and is dangerous.
The pharmacist said though, if you should try Alcohol, drink very little at first and see how you react. So I did try it. For me it makes me tense instead of relaxed.It makes me feel like I have taken more Seroquel. On the very first beer, I felt increase in muscle spasms of my tongue and back. My heart raced 5 hrs later and I felt like dying. I try'd a sip of a stronger cocktail once with Vodka and emiediately had one of the worst headaches you could imagine.
I have also researched and found interactions with grapefruit juice and Seroquel. Drugs that sedate you will make you way more sedated. You should check even over the counter meds and prescriptions with your pharmacist. Even some cold remidies may cause a problem.
Remember everyone is different. I had a reaction with Seroquel and Celexa.
I think a little Ativan should be fine, but be careful when driving and other tasks with needed mental and motor functions.

There is an algorithm that your doctor probably follows. Everyone fills in a different drug-profile. But, yes there is other medications for Bipolar disorder. The benefit of quetiapine (seroquel) is that can be prescribed for lows and ups (depression and mania) in bipolar disorder. Other drugs are lamotrigine (lamictal), lithium, aripiprazole, risperidone, carbamazepine, olanzapine, clozapine, ziprasidone, fluoxetine combined with olanzapine (symbyax, specially for bipolar depression).
all four of those drugs are very effective at treating the specific illness they are designed to treat. as to whether they are safe to take TOGETHER or not, I'm not sure. here are my personal feedback opinions on all four: adderall: very effective in the treatment of ADD and ADHD, can have nasty side effects though (appetite suppression, insomnia, dizziness etc). seroquel: powerful antipsychotic, typically used in the treatment of schizophrenia, effective and has few side effects (compared to other antipsychotics). topamax: can be used to control epilepsy or in management of migraines. not a lot of side effects; can suppress appetite or cause drowsiness. citalopram: effective SSRI used in treatment and management of depression. the combination of these 4 drugs provides no contraindication worthy of stopping them; however, the adderall could actually be causing or exacerbating symptoms you are trying to treat with the other medications (adderall can have rebound depression, can cause hypertension/migraine headaches).

because it is a proven medication that has theraputic value that effectively treats a variety of psychiatric disorders, namely bi-polar. yes it has side effects, as does every other drug in existence. if you are thinking that it should be taken off the market because a very limited number of people get high off it, then why aren't you writing about opiates like oxycontin, which is another drug that people abuse but is still on the market and not going anywhere.

What is stronger seroquel 300 or seroquel 300 xr?
Theoretically it is the same.
It contains the same dose.
BUT normal Seroquel is (way) stronger, as it lasts for 1/3 of the day.-> In the 1st hours, it knocks you out, fall asleep, last 1-2 hours no effect.
Seroquel XR is better, less sedating, it maintains a quite constant level of the med in your blood.
(Though not 24 hours -theory-, maybe lasts 20 or so. Last hours you will get nervy on a high dose.)
Personal experience. (Though these drugs have different effect on each person.)
I took 200 mg 3 times a day of the normal. (even 700-800 for a while) It was quite devastating.
Seroquel XR is no heaven either, but quite good and most of the time bearable.

You must be trying to do something hardcore to your system. I only take 300mg Seroquel and after an hour of taking the dose, I'm half asleep. Please be careful. Additionally, I was taking 60mg then down to 30 mg of Cymbalta and it was pushing through my mania from the BiPolar (which you clearly must have given the meds you are on). If you are still experiencing episodes of mania...talk with your doctors about weaning you off the Cymbalta. It helped me tremendously!! Good luck.

No. Topamax and Seroquel is better. They are probably giving you the Adderall for any ADD you may have or in some cases a mood stablizer. Mood stabilzers, such as Topamax which also has many other medical uses, work best with Seroquel.

well i take 400mg 2x a day and it's very relaxing and it's much like valume and vicodin all rolled in one. daily maximum dose is 1200mg give or take 100mg depending on your tolerance but 1200mg usually divided into 2-3doses not all at one time. they do have 800mg tablets so i figure that is the maximum for any single dose.
