Your job is tough - you must unemotionally critique whether behaviour is worse as a result of drug introduction, or due to some other external thing that is affecting behaviour, e.g. stress, family interactions, etc. Keep "scientific" notes of better and worse behaviours, and discuss frequency/intensity with your son's doctors. I know if this were me, I would immediately suspect that the new drug is destabilizing my bipolar disorder. However, since I have gained somw benefits from Seroquel, I would choose to start at a lower dose and increase only very gradually, perhaps dosing only at night time... easy as she goes. Dont play with that medication i was on 600mgs a night of that stuff and for you who actually know about that drug that amount can take down a horse. so please be careful!!

Seroquel is considered such strong stuff because it is used as roofies, or date rape drug. 25mg (the lowest dose made) will put an adult out cold, on their ass, for around 10 hours, 50-100mgs could completely knock you out for up to 20. So pretty much its considered serious business because scumbags use it as roofies in order to rape women. Its also very serious because when taken with out any of the disorders it is meant to treat (schizophrenia, manic depressive, and extreme anxiety), it has to the potential to really screw up your brain, causing mental disorders, the worst of which is serotonin disorder, which is potentially fatal. It has recently become a popular prescription to treat sleep problems. I'm prescribed it for chronic sleep disorders and have been taking it for about 3 months, and it knocks me right the hell out and I don't wake up once till tomorrow. Works excellent for sleep problems.

You can have nausea, trouble sleeping, ect if you stop taking seroquel suddenly. You should talk to your doctor if you want to stop taking it, and he will lower your dosage slowly, as to avoid side affects and withdrawal symptoms.

At that dosage I would recommend halfing the dosage for 1 week and then half again for another week. Try that. It all depends on how long you have been taking Seroquel and the dosage. I was able to wean down from 400 to 300 in a week, and from 300 to 200 in two weeks. After that I suggest halving the dosage until you get down to 25 mg, then see how you do. Side affects that are common are stomach cramps, loss of appetite, headaches, sleeplessness, anxiety, and RLS.

i dont know but i sure would like to know about the clonazepam 2Mg and the gabapentin 400Mg myself...

If you stop it all at once you will crash hard . You will have some severe physical and mental/emotional symptoms . Never go off your meds without the reccomendation or supervision of your doctor .

Ive currently been on 50mg of seriquel for 4years to help with my insomnia and have taken many diet pills of different brands over those last few years with no negative effect. A person on Seroquel needs to take their meds the way that they're supposed to, in the time frame that they are supposed to, to keep a steady level of the drug in the body.

The important thing is, if you are on Seroquel, you need to take it properly. Don't just stop taking it; you need to be "weaned off". And if it is not your prescription, you should NOT take it.

Anti-psychotic drugs taken by a person who doesn't need it can be dangerous, including having long-term permanent effects such as Tardive Diskinesia.

Actually Seroquel IS prescribed by a lot of doctors as a sleep aid. It's an anti psychotic medication that can be used to help you sleep. I have a prescription for it as a sleep aid myself actually.
