my shih tzu only bites if you try and pick her up

When I first got my male shih tzu (he was 12 weeks old), he had very dark brown markings and white fur, but now (he is 2 years old) he has very light tan and white fur. The brown markings faded.

It is called heat and they come in to it between 6-12 ms old. It depends on the breed of dog. Small dogs are around 6ms, medium 9 ms and large dogs or X large around 12 ms old. It last for about 4 weeks.

You should let them exercise outdoors where possible, but they should not be exposed to extended sunlight as their backs can get sunburned. Also, their hair is too long to be left outside, where it could get seriously matted.

Shih Tzus are not as hardy as other breeds, so cannot be exposed to extremely cold or extremely hot weather. They are best suited as indoor dogs because of the problems heat and humidity cause with their coats. Their eyes are also susceptible to infections.

There are several congenital diseases, including: patellar luxation, Stenotic Nares, Cherry eye, back problems and eye abnormalities. The patella or kneecap is usually located directly in the center of the knee joint. Luxation, or dislocation of the patella, occurs when the patella slides out of its groove. Stenotic Nares is a condition where the narrow resticted nostril puts a strain on the dog's system and can lead to an enlargement of the heart. In the Cherry eye condition, the gland of the third eyelid, which produces about one-third of the tear film, prolapses as a pink fleshy mass protruding over the edge of the third eyelid, between the third eyelid and the cornea (clear front part of the eye that provides the first step in the collection of light). 2. you put the tip of the bottle directly down into your pets ears

3.Then you squeeze the amount of drops your pet's Vet. put on the bottle

4. Massage the base of the dog's ears so that the medication works down into the ear canal. Dogs have a bend in their ear canals so that is the best way to work it down directly into the ear canal. Try to hold the tip of the ear up while you massage gently the base of the ear.

A shih tzu will get along with any puppy as long as you do not wait too long to get the new dog. You should get the new puppy before the shih tzu's 3rd or 4th birthday. As with most dogs, if you wait too long to get a puppy, the older dog will have no desire to keep up with the puppy.

Shih tzus are incredible!!! I have one. She is a girl. She is so playful, so sweet, and fun. Her and the cat play together. She only pees like every 4 hours. 2 meals a day, and needs a hair cut every 3 months. She loves children and people. I know 7 shih tzus in the town and all of them love them. This dog does not shed, and is the perfect companion!!

Shih Tzu puppies first open their eyes about 10 days after birth.

Normally around 10-15 lbs and about 11 in. from the base of the neck to the base of it's tail.

i own a havanese and in my opinion he is the best dog in the world!

i have heard a lot of things about how yorkies are yappy and that they only really like one person like a lhasa apso. my havanese is always wanting to play and cuddle.

he is a perfect little companion dog!!!

My puppy was 8 weeks old when I bought him and I went to the vet to see what he can eat. The vet said the best food is just puppy food or smashed bread.

i have this problem with my shih tzu, and he was 1 in feb... when he bites your feet, just give him a bit of a nudge (but not a hard kick) and if hes biting your hands just shake your hand around and he'll be scared of it :P if this doesn't work give him a harsh verbal every time

Shih tzu's are adults when they are 2, just like any other dog.
