Does a shotgun sabot slug rise after it leaves the barrel of the gun?
No, a sabot slug does not rise after it leaves the barrel of a gun. No bullet rises after it leaves the barrel of a gun. It always falls from the line of sight of thebarrel. All firearms have to be "sighted in" a bit high to hit a target downrange. At close range, there is little time for a bullet to drop and hit "low" on the target. Down range, however, the drop is more significant. The more time a bullet is in flight, the more it drops below the line of sight of the barrel. But a bullet always begins to drop below the line of sight of the barrel after it leaves the muzzle. Always.
How do you disassemble a SKS assault rifle?
First, please do not call an SKS an "Assault rifle". They are not capable of fully automatic fire as a routine matter, and we have enough problems with overly regulating politicians as it is. To answer the question- clear the rifle by opening the action, check magazine to insure it is empty, check chamber, let bolt go forward, point is safe direction, pull trigger to drop hammer. Remove the cleaning rod if installed. Partially raise latch at rear of gas piston tube, lift rear of tube, press latch down to clear tube, lift free of rifle. On the right rear of the action is a takedown lever- lift, turn, withdraw to right, while keeping light pressure on bolt cover. Let cover slide to rear, withdraw cover, draw back bolt carrier, bolt and spring, remove from rear. Turn rifle over- look for metal stud directly behind trigger guard. Use a punch to press stud towards front of rifle, lift rear of trigger group from rifle. Action can now be removed from stock. Stop there, or you will regret it. The website at surplusrifle has good information on the SKS, including photos and step by step instructions.

Is it worth it to get the Mossberg 590 a1 rather than the Mossberg 500?
I believe that it is worth the money to get the 590A1.
The Mossberg 590a1 is an extremely tough firearm, built with an aluminum receiver, metal trigger guard, and metal safety. The 590 has proven it's self in combat. I can tell you how durable the 590a1 is because I carry it with me when backpacking for 5+ days.
It's not that the 500 is a bad gun. In fact if you never put your gun through the extreme you will be fine. But if you want a rugged gun with a proven reputation through mother natures worst, then the 590a1 is for you.
