If it has the bolt, it is worth about $60 which is the amount Sears will pay through their recall program on that shotgun. More input from FAQ Farmer Charles: "the gun was made in 1948 the 12 gauge models is getting scarce. In good condition and complete are woth between 75 and 100 dollars . JCHiggins collector like myself would pay more. I own one of these it has been in the family for more than fifty years it has been and still is one of the safest most reliable gun s I have ever owned. There was a bogus Recall by Sears of this gun they gave a fifty dollar gift card for the bolt which ruins the gun. I will pay 100 dollars for the bolt."

The Stevens Boys Rifles such as the 14 1/2 Little Scout are collectable in top condition. Unfortunately, due to the market for which they were designed, guns in top condition are very rare. Make sure it is unloaded. Then double-check it. Then make sure it is unloaded, again.

Cycle the action to cock the hammer. Drift out the crosspin at the lower rear of the receiver. Remove the trigger guard assembly downward and rearward. Do not force it. Slide the action rearward until the bolt slide can be removed from the receiver. This releases the forend and tube assembly to remove forward once you take the barrel band off. You can also remove the magazine cap, spring and follower at this time. The bolt also removes from the bottom. The barrel is screwed into the receiver and generally not casually removed.

There was no 'Model A.' In any event, Stevens double-barrel 16ga shotguns in typical condition sell for $200-$250. sales@countrygunsmith.net

In typical used condition (these guns were retailed by Montgomery Wards and generally used pretty hard) these guns will sell in the $300-$350 range. There are a couple of options that add some to the price, namely ejectors instead of extractors or a single trigger instead of double triggers. Value won't exceed $500, I've seen them go for as little as $250. Parts are extremely hard to find and the open bolt guns are terribly inaccurate. ATF also is not fond of them.

Just about any of the utility single-shot 12ga shotguns, whether made by Stevens or just about any of the other manufacturers of that type, will sell for under $100. sales@countrygunsmith.net

Another one of the brand names used by HD Folsom. Look on the underside of the barrels for the Belgian ELG proof. If its not there, it was probably made by Crescent Firearms. In any event, the gun will date from 1890-1910 or thereabouts. Please do not attempt to shoot it. sales@countrygunsmith.net

That is the 'Flues Model', made c.1911. Even though it was designed for smokeless powder, I would certainly limit usage to very light loads. No reason to stress a gun almost 100 years old. Before shooting it, please have a gunsmith familiar with doubles make sure it is safe. sales@countrygunsmith.net
