Verizon does not use sim cards up until recently near the end of 2008 i heard they will be accepting phones from different carriers to use on their network as long as the phone has been unlocked. I'm not sure when or if they will even go through with this, which would be nice but that is what i heard..
that is not true they will not take phones from other plans
Apparently you can have just one sim card even if the phone is dual sim compatible.
EDIT: 'Dual SIM' - simply gives the user the option to use two different numbers in one handset. It's a users choice - not mandatory.
my uncle who works with a ton of technology for a job said that every phone has a sim card its just that some phones are harder to get to. apparently u can take of the battery back then unscrew a couple screws then you can get it from there.
a sim card is made of many different parts such as plastic, gold, tin and many more things that you can search for yourself...
yes, but it depends on what you mean by work. it will physically be able to work eg. call and text but im pretty sure the US sim cards will not work in UK's phones.
SIM cards have generic sizes and basic functions. The difference lie in the frequencies that they operate on.
A cell phone is a phone that isn't attached to the wall and that you can take anywhere. It often looks like a very small, flat television, with buttons.
YES, without any problem.
Certain blackberry have sim Card Like Tmobile , at&t, And Nextel . Boostmobile ,sprint , and Verizon blackberry donot have a Sim >
At this current time there are no cell phones that are designed for the united states market that can accept 2 sim cards. I know that there are phones sold by Verizon wireless however that can use Verizon cdma network which doesn't require a sim card and then allow a sim for uses overseas on Vodafone's network. Besides that if you are really that set on having 2 sim cards in one phone then there are a few site that sell a piece which must be soldered onto the circuit board within the phone and then i have no idea how you can switch between the 2 sims.
Try besy buy, or any shop that sells mobile phones. You can also obtain free SIM cards direct from network operators online.
Or just search SIM cards on google, you will find many online stores which offer this product. One of them is aurabuy.com.
No, manufactorers of phones program the phone for each company. You cannot take a phone or sim from one provider to another.
Edit: Yes - if you get the handset unlocked so it's no longer 'tied' to the original network ! (Snakester1962)

that depends on which memory you use, whether the phone memory or the sim card memory
At least some of their phones are do; all of their smart phones do and a few of the standard handsets use them as well.
For proof, see the following link on the Virgin Mobile site for "How to activate your new SIM card."

nope and i know this because i am a Nigerian
No as they may be locked to a particular handset but if they are not you can move the SIM card to an other handset. Nokia do not have their own SIM cards they just lock the SIM card to their network via the SIM card settings.
as per huawei company this model eg162g does not support 3G. atmost it can support edge.
The SIM card identifies the phone to the cell tower and is used to associate the phone and your account. It is not used to control WiFi functionality.
