3. turn your lights on if they're off
4. take a cold shower
5. run around outside

7. get psyched for something coming up soon
8. think about how screwed you'd be if you didnt finish all your work in time
another thing that works for me, if your in lounge clothes put on jeans and a shirt that is more form-fitting than a t-shirt, or something like it. And put your hair up in a tight ponytail or clip. You might even try wearing tennis shoes. All this just makes your brain think that you're getting ready to go out somewhere, waking you up and making you move faster. Works for me! Hope this helps

Are sleeping pills depressants?
no. barbiturates are like xanax, klonopin & valium... sleeping pills are not in the same category although a Dr may prescribe a barbiturate to help aod with your insomnia, sleeping troubles or whatever problems you are having. or the Dr may prescribe both a sleep aid & low dose of a barbiturate. but be very careful mixing ANYTHING like that without talking to your doctor first. some drugs do NOT mix well together & you may wanna get a good night's rest but you DON'T wanna over do it & end up sleeping forever. be careful & talk to you Dr before taking ANYTHING especially when combining different medications that are sedatives.

Why cant you wake a sleep walker?
Well, the real question you should ask is why SHOULDN'T you wake a sleep walker. So the answer to that question is because it scares and confuses them... really bad. And I can say that from personal experience. (I'm a sleepwalker) My sister woke me up one time (she slapped me :-D) and it really scared me and I was really confused. I was wondering what was going on and why she slapped me. So instead of waking them up, just simply guide them back to their beds and tell them about it in the morning. :-D

How many people would you of had to sleep with to be called a slag?
I really don't judge them by the number of men they have sex with, I think being A s**t is an attitude
I think it has to do more with the action behind the sex. Some women choose sex for different reasons. You might be labeled badly if some sort of vial thinking was attached to the involvement; a person slept with someone to send a message to someone else, or to make someone jealous, or just to provoke someone. This senseless act void of any emotion might be considered s***ty. Most s**ts just emotionally addicted, perhaps physically addicted.
By definition, a s**t is:
1. A slovenly woman (old British use)
2. A promiscuous woman (as in a pros*****e)
3. A saucy girl (as in a Minx)

How can you prevent frequent nightmares in adults?
Scary thoughts. Try to think of something pleasant before going to sleep. NEW POST: Whilst it is true that scary thoughts have some input to nightmares it has to be understood that this is not the only factor, in fact it is the least likely unless brought on by a psychological condition, such as anxiety. Only approximately 5-8% of adults suffer from frequent nightmares. Nightmares can occur in adults who are classed as "creative", or who view the world without any sound definition. For example, they see the world in greys, not in black and white. Nightmares can also occur due to post traumatic stress, or through the use of a new medication (generally one that affects the brain eg. anti-depressents), or through withdrawel symptoms from a medication. If you are suffering from frequent nightmares that are affecting your daily life I suggest you see a doctor. They can find the root of the problem and help you get some sleep. Why do some children talk in their sleep?
You did not mention how old your child is. If your child is below the age of 6 then here are a few tips:
Read your child a story (funny one) Put a night light in the bedroom Never have the child sleep with one or both parents, but until the child settles down it is advisable to sleep on the floor by the child's bed. Play a radio low with nice music.
If you child is 12 or older then try talking to them. Perhaps school is bothering them. If there is not peace in the family and parents are arguing or considering divorce (the biggest fear of children) this too must be discussed with that child.
Why are people always tired during the day?
In some cases the person is not tired; drowsy.
Keep in mind that your body induces a self-paralysis to prevent injury during sleep.
You're being freed from that paralysis when you wake up.
Makes you're kind of stiff, tired, drowsy, etc.
Also, your metabolism slows down during dormancy.
Waking up and doing stuff while your body's still asleep leaves you with a lack of energy being produced, leaving you feeling tired. (For just a bit)
(BTW, Sleepwalking is a disorder where this paralysis doesn't correctly shut down the brain's motor skills, and the body remains at the whim of an unconscious brain.)
A major reason why many people wake up tired is that they suffer from sleep disturbances that can include sleep that is interrupted many times during the night, inability to fall asleep for hours, waking up very early and not being able to get back to sleep, profound sleep disorders that prevent any restful sleep at all, fibromyalgia that induces pain during the night, other pain disorders, insomnia caused by stress, medication and anxiety, and sleep apnea induced by breathing interruptions.
An evaluation at a sleep study clinic may help determine the reason.
What is the cause of acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis?
Article from THE PHILIPPINE STAR: The reported cause of actor Rico Yan's(Filipino celebrity)death is nightmare or bangungot. Medical investigators in China , Japan and several Asian countries who performed autopsies on persons who died from 'acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis' found out that the majority of them had eaten NOODLES as their supper. This was a startling finding. However, it wasn't the noodles that caused nightmares but DEHYDRATION. Imbibing even with a few drinks of alcohol or just eating noodles immediately before bedtime compound this on an empty stomach will trigger an electrolyte imbalance and other factors that causes a person to dehydrate or lose water. It is therefore advisable for a person to take several glasses of water before bedtime if he had a few or several alcoholic drinks. Avoid eating noodles before bedtime, but if you can not avoid it, allow at least two hours for the body to digest the noodles before hitting the sack and drink plenty of water. The most important thing is, never go thirsty when going to bed and be sure you have plenty of water during your 8-hour rest.
