I dont think that there are very many professional jobs for softball players like there is baseball. But in order to make it to the top you need to be better than "really good"

yes, fasting while you play softball is really not a good idea. But i guess it depends on what level youre on. if you play fastpitch, you need to eat otherwise you will faint.

when someone hits the ball and it is caught, the runner(s) on base can "tag" the base they are on once it is caught and then run to the next base. If they tag 3rd base and run home to score it is the tag run.

If you play softball for your high school and the college you plan on attending wants you on their team, they may give you money for your schooling to get you to play for them. For example, if they give you a 'full ride' if you play for them, they are paying full costs for you to attend college.

A sub is put in for the injured player...the at bat is continued by the sub and begins his at bat with a one strike count......Anytime during an "AT BAT" the batter can be substituted for but the sub comes to bat with whatever the ball/strike count was of the player he replaced.

If you are in the field, then the most important player is the pitcher. If you have a bat in your hand, then you better be sure the most important player is you.

The record for the longest winning streak by a team is now held by a women's softball team. The Northampton Community College Lady Spartans from Bethlehem,Pa. set the new mark on April 1 ,2007. They beat Montgomery Rockville Lady Knights 10-0 to break the old record of 92 set back in the early 80's by North Carolina's Women's Soccer team led by the incredible Mia Hamm- Garciaparra. The previous record was held by UCLA Men's Basketball team at 88, established in the early 70's. The NCC team was beaten at game 95 so the record is now at 94 straight wins including championships . The streak started in March 2005 and ended in April 2007 . During their run the Lady Spartans won back to back State titles.

To be a decent softball pitcher it could take 3-4 years to pitch a softball. Fastpitch that is. The ball is bigger and weighs more than a baseball. The wind up is tricky. Most pitchers that I know have to practice their pitching around 3 to 4 days a week.
