What point on earth is the only place from which all directions face south?

The North Pole - because whatever direction you walk in away from it you will always be heading south. The North Magnetic Pole that is.

Geographic North Pole is the correct answer. The magnetic pole is actually not in alignment with the geographic one.

What is the clockwise deflection of air in the Northern Hemisphere and the counterclockwise deflection of air in the Southern Hemisphere?

In the Northern Hemisphere, air deflects to the right (clockwise) due to the Coriolis effect. In the Southern Hemisphere, air deflects to the left (counterclockwise) due to the same effect. This phenomenon is a result of Earth's rotation causing moving objects to deviate from a straight path.

What hemisphere has more land?

Scientists now believe that at one point, several billion years ago, there was only one continent, which we call Pangea. Because of plate tectonics, which is the movement of the plates making up the crust of the Earth, that super continent has broken up, and parts of it are drifting erratically around the Earth. It is purely chance that so much continental crust is concentrated in one hemisphere.

When is Scorpius seen in the southern Hemisphere?

If you get up early enough, or stay up late enough, you can see Scorpius as early as middle to late January just before sunrise (around 5am to 7am EST). From the Southeast it rises near the moon. However, only four stars are easily visible: beta scorpii, delta scopii, pi scorpii, and Antares (one of the brightest stars in the sky). These four stars constitute the most recognizable pattern of Scorpius; the head and thorax. If you wish to see the whole constellation, it is probably only visible in Spring/Summer months. The constellation in whole is quite large since it includes the head, thorax, and a long, sweeping tail. In its entirety, the constellation is quite impressive.

This is by far my favorite constellation. I've looked everywhere online for this answer and couldn't find it. The question people have been asking is when it's visible, not what the best time to view it is.

Note: Seen from East Coast in North America. I am not an Astronomer and don't know how different time zones, hemispheres, etc. have an impact on whether or not it is visible but I'm sure they do. Hope this helps.

Does water drains backwards in the southern hemisphere?

No. Not only is the Earth's rotation too weak to affect the direction of water flowing in a drain, tests you can easily perform in a few washrooms will show that water whirlpools both ways depending on the sink's structure, not the hemisphere.

Does water drain counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere?

That is a myth. Although cyclonic storms tend to rotate the way you describe, water vortexes do not. The particular shape and configuration of the drain, as well as the initial conditions of the swirl, play a much greater role in determining which way the vortex rotates. Although there is such a thing as coriolis, you can't observe it on anything smaller than a storm system. The idea that water spins one way or the other when going down the drain is an urban legend.

Why did the northern part of Carolina develop more slowly than that southern part?

The northern part of Carolina developed more slowly than the southern part due to factors such as less fertile land, harsher climate conditions, and fewer natural resources. Additionally, the southern region had easier access to transportation routes, which facilitated trade and economic growth.

Which continent in the western hemisphere is also partly in the northern and southern hemispehere?

South America is the continent in the western hemisphere that is partly in the northern and southern hemispheres. The equator runs through the continent, dividing it between the two hemispheres.

What is the clockwise deflection of air in the northern hemisphere and the counter clockwise deflection of air in southern?

In the Northern Hemisphere, air is deflected to the right due to the Coriolis effect, resulting in a clockwise rotation. In the Southern Hemisphere, air is deflected to the left, causing a counterclockwise rotation. This deflection is a result of the Earth's rotation causing moving objects to be influenced by the Coriolis force.

What country is in more than one hemisphere?

Brazil is a country that spans both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres, with a significant portion of its landmass located in the Southern Hemisphere.

What African countries are located in the southern hemisphere?

Some African countries located in the southern hemisphere include South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Lesotho. These countries are below the equator and experience seasons opposite to those in the northern hemisphere.

Do you capitalize southern in southern upbringing?

This division created political and religious tensions between the two kingdoms, which eventually led to competition over power and resources.

What is the imaginary great line or circle of 0 degrees latitude on the earths surface separating the northern hemisphere from the southern hemisphere?

The imaginary great line of 0 degrees latitude is called the Equator. It divides the Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.

How are seasons in the northern and Southern Hemisphere?

They are different because of tilt of the earth on its axis

Why did the northern provinces of the low country pull away from southern ones?

The northern provinces of the Low Countries pulled away from the southern ones due to religious differences and tensions that culminated in the Eighty Years' War. The northern provinces, which were largely Protestant, sought independence from the Catholic-dominated Spanish rule in the south. This eventually led to the formation of the independent Dutch Republic in the north.
