The amount of menstrual blood has nothing to do with the release of your egg, at least not in the way you are thinking it does. Ovulation (the release of the egg) occurs well before your period flow. Think of it this way- when you are on the pill, you have a normal period..that is, you bleed like you would without the pill. The biggest difference is that the pill prevents your egg from being released. So, you do not release eggs but still bleed. If you are really concerned about yours (or girlfriend's, etc) fertility, I think the best thing to do is research the mentrual cycle and learn more about exactly when things are happening. You can still get pregnant during your period and anytime before or after, but there are days where pregnancy is more likely during the month. Hope this helps?:)

Spotting is exactly what it sounds like... it is literally (instead of bleeding in a flow or constant like most women) it is getting a little blood here or there... it could be spotting a little each day or stretched out over a long period of time... but instead of getting your normal period in a normal flow and it lasting your normal time it just does whatever it wants basically... Spotting is blood... so if you see anything resembling blood and you are pregnant you should talk to you healthcare provider right away... it could be harmless as was my best friend's ... she spotted throughout her first 3 months and although we worried she was fine and her Dr. kept telling us she was... As a matter of fact she is due soon and has an induction date of July 27th... so she has carried to term with no complications and the baby is fine .... On the flip side it could also be signs of a non-viable pregnancy, an ectopic pregnancy, or even miscarriage... Tell your Dr. right away.... if for any extenuous reason you cannot get into see your Dr. right away keep a log .... write down exactly what is does... when, how much, what you had been doing previously, smells, etc.

I've just got done with my period a week ago, but i had intercourse the day before my last day of my period and then a week later i had intercourse again..the next day i startiung apotting and the day after i was spotting a little more heavier...whats the meaning to this?
