- Actually vampire squids are called vampire squids because some people believe they resemble people in cloaks. Also because underneath their tentacles are barbs that look like teeth. Vampire Squids don't use those to suck blood, but instead use those to turn itself inside out and have the barbs protect itself from predators.
Another thing vampire squids could do that make them seem like vampires is that they have eyes that glow in the dark, which is fairly scary.
