Darth Maul is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe and a supporting villain in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Darth Maul was a Zabrak Sith, and apprentice to Darth Sidious.

Dart Plagues the Wise (not whites) was a Sith Lord who developed the power to keep people he cared about alive but he never used it himself. He trained his apprentice in the most brutal ways constantly making his apprentice face his fears and things he hated. The Sith Lord's apprentice (Palpatine aka Darth Sideous) was very eager to discover the secret. Eventually the Sith Lord was getting old and told Sideous the secret to immortality with Sideous aware of the secret he did not need his master anymore and killed him in his sleep. Since the original trilogy films were released before the prequel trilogy, a lot of the characters who appeared in the prequel trilogy only were created during the production. Hope this clears it up.

As seen in Star Wars Episode IV, Luke Skywalker, Wedge Antilles were the only survivors from Red Squadron.

A Y-Wing was also seen flying away, but was not identified on film. The pilot was later identified as Keyan Farlander, the only Gold Squadron pilot to survive (he would accomplish other things later in the Star Wars universe, including becoming a Jedi). He was the main character in the X-Wing computer game.
