Not all bad sore throats are caused by strep. If you have cold symptoms and no fever, it is probably caused by a virus. Strep throat is airborne, meaning that you get it from the tiny droplets that an infected person gives off in sneezes. So a person who doesn't have strep throat cannot possibly give strep to you, no matter what you do. But that doesn't mean that you can't get any number of other things from engaging in oral sexual activity.

The infection itself hurts with a very sore throat. The treatment is usually antibiotics and they would likely be taken by mouth at first. Later, if the oral medication does not cure it, they may give you a shot or IV antibiotics which may be uncomfortable, but not as much as the sore throat. Don't delay treatment with antibiotics, you could be spreading the germs and untreated strep infections can lead to serious problems like infection of the heart muscle, anemia, kidney inflammation and other complications.

It is sometimes a choice doctors will use to treat strep if drugs such as the Z Pak have not yielded results. Ideally you need to have a throat culture taken to determine whether it is a bacterial or viral infection. Antibiotics won't cure a viral sore throat; time will.

I'm 17 now and got strep throat for the first time since, I thought it was impossible cause ny brother used to be a strep carrier until his tonsils were removed and I never got it.

Strep is one of the most contagious bacterial illnesses, especially in children. First, a child's ear-throat structures are different than an adult's, making children more susceptible to strep throat infections. Second, children's habits of touching their mouths, then touching objects, only help to spread strep. As well, children who are actively sneezing and coughing can infect an entire room of children and their adult caregivers.

So if your child is prone to ear and throat infections, take some basic steps now. First, teach your child to keep their fingers out of / away from their mouths. Include doorknobs, table and counter tops, toys, telephones, remote controls, game stations, etc. If your child can touch it, the object can have strep transferred to it. If your child can sneeze or cough on an object, it needs cleaned. Don't overdo it; we can never make our homes germ free. But do clean during active stages of illness, at minimum.

· To prevent re-infection get a new toothbrush for those who were infected.

They can - tonsils are part of the throat, but do not comprise all of your throat. Since even if your tonsils are taken out, the rest of your throat remains, so you can still acquire an abscess on it.

Well no. The strep bug is a twisted viral cell. As we know viruses are non lifelike, therefor we can't kill the bug. But, with a steady course on antibiotics you will have the viral bug put away for a while. Most of the time it comes around about the winter time. If you recognise the strep bug early enough you can stop it. But if you had or have a tonsil removal, you are less likely to get strep throat!

If you have strep throat then you want want to eat something warm . For example , rice , soup (that's not too hot a little on the cold side). For your beverages you want drink LOTS of ginger ale it will help the soreness go away faster. My technique is put a halls cough-drop in your mouth while drinking ginger ale.

No, your wisdom teeth stays under your gum in the back of your mouth and it never comes out. When being tested in Scientific labs, Scientists know that wisdom teeth never come out in any infection, surgery, operation, etc. This is to my research, WIll [11] I had a sinus infection during just a dental cleaning and could not get rid of it for another 3 months thereafter. I would avoid a tooth extraction until you are better.

The Penicillins (i.e. Amoxil) can be useful for both strep throat and urinary tract infections. However, you should visit a doctor if you think you have either of these for an accurate diagnosis. Taking medication you don't need is not wise in the long run.

What a pessimistic answer!!! It could be a number of things from appendicitis, bone marrow issues, immune system problems and even malnutrition. Most are treated very successfully!!

There is no cure for stammering/stuttering; however, there are things that can be done to become more fluent. Several uncles and cousins of mine stuttered. All of them got "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" published by The Stuttering Foundation of America and worked through the steps over and over diligently and found that they got better and better. One uncle also went to a speech therapist who specialized in treating stuttering. He found that she used that book in her sessions! The book is available on Amazon.com, at www.stutteringhelp.org in the estore, and at many public libraries.

*put 2 teaspoons of cayenne powder in with some water. and gargle. dont let it get in eyes. stir alot it likes to settle at bottom of glass.

*this wont cure but it helps: use sore throat numbing spray by: 'cepacole' it makes throt feel weird at first. but helps minutes lata
