Buprenorphine is a semi-synthetic opioid. Now its not a good idea to take a bunch of opiates and i assume thats why you have the suboxone but in general the only risk is respiratory depression as with all opiates but nothing crazy will happen.

Fiorinal (aspirin/butalbital/caffeine) may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives (used to treat insomnia), pain relievers, anxiety medicines, and muscle relaxants. That would include Suboxone, which is a synthetic opiate, albeit with a narcotic antagonist included.

You should not take Fiorinal with codeine, either (it is available with and without). The whole purpose of taking Suboxone is to detox from opiates, and codeine is an opiate. Addictionally, the narcotic antagonist in the Suboxone would probably counteract any pain relief provided by the codeine.

Because Suboxone is well known as an ineffective treatment for addiction to heroin. Methadone is the preferred choice for addiction to heroin, I advise you ask your substance abuse professional to switch to methadone if you are still experiencing withdrawal symptoms.

I'm about to find out. Just injected 2 small shots of bath salt about 4 or 5 hours ago & I'm still fairly spun. I've done A LOT of salt in my day so nothing new or even all that impressive tonight. However I had a pretty rough spot with my woman tonight & she just wants me to go to bed with her. I'm too damn whacked to pass out so I'm gonna shoot a half of an orange 8 mg suboxone tablet & see how that pans out. I'm not by any means thumping my chest, our bragging in any way. This its strictly experimental, not recommended, & purely for informational purposes. Please learn from my mistakes! I'm sorry to anyone I may offend with this post!

suboxone/subutex is the latest prescription drug that can be substituted in place of another narcotic..

sub stops the horrible withdrawal symptoms when going off a narcotic once you're addicted..unfortunately you are simply replacing one narcotic for another narcotic..

although word is getting off suboxone much easier than getting off methadone,

so switching to suboxone to get off methadone and then getting off subutex certainly make sense..in the case of getting off other narcotics[percs,Oxycontin,morphine,etc] can't really say that getting off suboxone is any easier than getting off those other narcotics because subutex is just another synthetic narcotic..

You can not. Bupremorphine ( which is the active ingredient in suboxone) docks with and completely saturates your opiate receptors and prevents any other opiates from having any effect on your opiate receptors. So taking opiates on top of suboxone is useless and a waste of money not to mention that it will make your VERY sick.

Edit:Taking opiates on top of suboxone does not get you sick. I've done it before and felt fine. It's only if you take opiates first, then take suboxone.

Try taking methadone on top of suboxone, then tell me how you are feeling. I agree that if you take suboxone and then take a lortab or two will probably not make you sick, but you take enough to get real high or take suboxone and then a couple of hours later shoot H than I assure you will get sick, it also varies with different body chemistries. What might not make you sick could send someone else to the ER. I have friends that have went to ER from taking suboxone to soon after doing opiates cause they were in such bad withdrawals. Bottom line it is so stupid to mix any opiate, no matter the order of it, with suboxone because the Bupremorphine prevents you being able to feel it at all. Why not just wait and then you won't risk getting sick?

Edit: Suboxone actually consists of Buprenorphine Hydrochloride with Naloxone. What the others say above about the Buprenorphine is true to a point, what they fail to mention is it is the Naloxone that will make you sick. Naloxone is put in Suboxone as a way to prevent the addicts that they treat it with from abusing it. Naloxone is what will make you sick, as it provides a "ceiling effect", where you can only feel so good. So unfortunately you cannot override suboxone unless you are in the E.R. and need to be shot up with Narcan (Narcan stops all narcotic substance within minutes) for matter of life and death. By the way if that happens, you will instantly go into withdrawals. Best way to get off is to taper (ween) off the pills, 2 a day for a week or month, then 1 1/2, then 1, etc...

DO NOT EVER MIX FENTANYL WITH ANY OTHER OPIATE!! I had 2 grand mal seizures and almost died, plus I don't remember almost 2 years of my life from mixing Fent. with other opiates. If you HAVE to get high, just stay away from fentanyl!! And mixing suboxone with any other opiate is STUPID. The suboxone BLOCKS the BRAIN RECEPTORS THAT ALLOW YOU TO FEEL HIGH. If you are lucky enough to get a script for it, USE IT and quit f'n around.
