The Sumerians invented glass accidentally.

The Sumerians were the first to build an irrigation system. They learned how to use the floodings of the rivers to water their plants. They dug canals in which they could store the water and made gates (dikes) to protect their lands from flooding. When the river went back to its banks, the gates were closed and a lot of water remained in the canals. Without this knowkledge (and hard work) they just wouldn't have been able to live and farm in the very hot weather.

The Sumerians controlled their physical environment by practicing irrigation. They also domesticated animals and built houses out of mud bricks.

Cities of Sumer and Akkad were defeated and captured and some occupied or recolonised.

The sumerians didnt have a exact amount of gods but it is said they believed in a god for each element. Sumerians also beleived in Polythesism which is the belief in many gods or godesses

because the sumerians belived that success in every area of life depended on pleasing the gods therfore every sumerian had the responsability to keep the gods happy.
