Is eating raw sweet potato harmful?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The majority of sources state that apple skins are very healthy and I have never peeled an apple before consuming it, however, I have often observed gorillas in the zoo and they always seem to peel aples before eating them and they discard the skin. This made me curios about it. Using their thumb nail they spin the apple and the peel is removed in seconds. Very effective. Then they discard the skin of the apple. Perhaps gorillas know something we have yet to learn.

Can you refrigerate a sweet potato pie?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You should refrigerate your homemade pumpkin pie once it cools completely. Pumpkin pie is a custard pie and because milk and eggs are key components in custard pies, you’ll want to treat a pumpkin pie more like a quiche or egg dish.

Commercially-produced pumpkin pies are typically made with preservatives that allow them to remain shelf-stable for longer at room temperature. Most store-bought pies will include a sell-by date, which gives you an idea of how long they will remain safe to eat—even stored at room temperature.

How long do i need to cook a sweet potatoes in the oven?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Turn on the oven function of the toaster oven and set the temp to about 375 degrees. Clean the sweet potato and poke some holes in it with a fork so the steam pressure doesn't cause it to explode. Put it in the toaster oven to cook for at least 20 minutes and then check it by poking it to see how soft or firm it is. It needs to be pretty soft so if it's not, put it back in for another 10 minutes and then check it again. Repeat until it reaches desired doneness.
