Is it okay for a 13 year old to wear a tampon during soccer?

Yes it's okay for 13 year old to use tampons or whatever else they want during soccer or any other activity they want to do on their period. Tampons are not recommended to teens due to increased risks of TSS so you need to make sure you understand the risks and how to use tampons correctly to reduce risks. You may want to consider using safer more reliable options like menstrual cups.

How do women in places where they can't affor tampons or pads handle there period?

You say 'places' like you are talking about some far away land, but remember that many in rich countries are living in poverty or homeless so they can't afford tampons, pads, or cups either.

In less economically developed countries many women simply bleed on clothing or use items like old rags or newspaper, in some parts of Africa or India girls have to drop out of school once they start menstruating as it's not possible for them to attend without menstrual products. You have a lot of charities and menstrual product companies that are working on schemes to tackle that problem. There's also Menstrual Hygiene Day about raising awareness about this issue.

AFRIpads - http://www.afripads.com
Thinx - http://www.shethinx.com/mission
RubyCup - http://www.ruby-cup.com/en/ruby-cup-in-kenya

In developed countries, for example United Kingdom or United States Of America, there are many people who can't afford menstrual products because they live in poverty or are homeless. In many cases they will have to choose between food or menstrual supplies, they will steal menstrual products, or like in less economically developed countries they will use newspaper or rags.

Some women's shelters may have menstrual products but often this will only happen if there is a drive for them (as they're not commonly donated otherwise). There is also a campaign to get menstrual products for free in public bathrooms, this is to help all women but would also be a great advantage to those who are poor or homeless as it would give them access too - it's called Free The Tampons.

Can tampons cause devirginity?

There's no such thing as 'devirginity' - you are a virgin, or you're had sex.

A virgin is someone who has not had sex, it is a social construct not a physical state of being - it's nothing more than a word. You are a virgin up until you have sex with another person, tampons are not another person and using tampons is not sex...thus tampons do not change you being a virgin.

Tampons can tear the hymen but it's unlikely - the hymen is tissue that surrounds the vaginal opening, there's normally enough room for a tampon to fit through, and the hymen is flexible so will stretch to accommodate larger items - the hymen is usually only torn from rough or forced penetration. Even if torn the hymen has absolutely nothing what-so-ever to do with virginity, it's just skin.

Does putting in a tampon hurt im really scared?

Inserting a tampon should not hurt - being a virgin makes no difference as to whether it will hurt or not because sex doesn't change your vagina in any way - if scared there's no reason to use tampons. When it comes to inserting tampons you're in control so if you do start to feel pain then you just have to stop and address the cause of the pain. As long as you're relaxed and use tampons correctly it shouldn't hurt.

Is it supposed to hurt when you take out your tampon and how can you stop this?

No, tampons are not suppose to hurt. The first time that you use a tampon then it may feel uncomfortable or you may feel a little pressure, but once you use a tampon then your body will get used to it and it won't hurt!

Hope this helped.(:

Do youth league athletes wear jock straps?

Yes. A lot of youth sports leagues require athletic supporters and/or cups.

What will happen if you insert a tampon before you start your period?

You should never use tampons when not menstruating, even with spotting it's a bad idea.

Tampons are dry and absorbent so without enough flow as lubrication there will be increased friction between the vagina and the tampon so cause more irritation as well as increased damage to vaginal tissues, tampons also absorb moisture so will cause further damage to vaginal tissues. As well as potentially painful to use tampons without sufficient flow this significantly increases TSS risks.

Do guys wear tampons?

Yes, some guys do use tampons.

It's not just women who have a vagina and a uterus, some men have female genitals and reproductive anatomy too and as such some men will use tampons, pads, and cups. Most men have a penis and don't have a uterus so don't need tampons for their traditional purposes.

Tampons are sometimes used in first aid when dealing with problems like a nosebleed, tampons are the perfect shape to insert into the nostrils to absorb the blood from a nose bleed.

Should you be concerned if you have accidentally left a tampon inside you for 5 days and you don't have any side effects?

Unless you have dis colored discharge and a bad smell coming from the vagina i don t think you have anything to worry about, but if you have a smell or dis coloration of dis charge then you should go to your doctor, you may have a infection.

Why does it hurt when I push my tampon plunger in?

Pushing down on the plunger of the applicator is what pushes the tampon into the vagina.

There are many reasons why inserting tampons may hurt including you being too tense when inserting, inserting at the wrong angle, or using too high an absorbency. It would help if you were to use a non-applicator tampon to improve control and feel for resistance to insert the tampon correctly.

Can using a tampon at the very beginning of pregnancy cause you to lose the baby?

probably but why should you be using it since you wont have a period any way.

Do you pee from were the tampon goes?

No, you urinate from the urethra and a tampon goes into the vagina.

Both the vaginal opening and the urethral opening are right next to each other within the vestibule of the vulva, but they are not the same hole and it is not possible to insert a tampon into the urethra. A person can urinate as normal when they are wearing a tampon.

Is it bad to wear a tampon in the pool for the first time?

No, it's not bad to use a tampon in the pool for the first time - if you choose to use tampons then there'd have to be a first time. You may want to consider menstrual cups instead of tampons as they're safer so you can wear them for longer and with light flow, plus they don't leak like tampons. If you do use tampons just make sure to use correct absorbency for your flow and change before the pool.

What if your tampon splits inside and the other doesnt come out?

If your tampon tears - which rarely happens - then all you need to do is insert your fingers vaginally to remove the rest of the tampon. If it's just a small bit of tampon the vagina may clean it out itself, but otherwise you should go to your doctor to remove whatever is left if you can't remove it yourself.

Is it normal for the discharge on your tampon to be on left side?

If a tampon has blood on only one side, it is never a cause for concern. It has no medical meaning.

How long do you have to wait till you get tss from wearing a tanpon to long?

It's a myth that TSS only occurs from leaving tampons too long - TSS is a risk whenever you use tampons, it's just that the longer you leave tampons the higher the risk of TSS as the longer you allow bacteria and toxins to build-up.

TSS occurs when certain bacteria multiply and start to produce TSST-1 toxins, these toxins enter your bloodstream and if you lack immunity they overwhelm your immune system to cause TSS - there is no specific length of time when this will occur, but in most cases TSS will occur within the first few hours of use, as soon as those toxins are produced and hit the victims bloodstream.

Tampons need to have been in long enough to have allowed bacterial growth, so a few minutes wouldn't be a risk, but certainly bacteria and toxins don't wait until the 8 hour mark to have an effect. Just be sure to change tampons every 4-6 hours and consider safer options like softcups and menstrual cups.

Can using sented tampons or using soap on you vagina cause dischage and fish odor?

Yes.

The vagina is self-cleaning - discharge flushes out excess bacteria, the vagina also has an acidic pH to kill-off 'bad' bacteria while allowing 'good' bacteria to thrive.

Anything chemical near your genitals can effect vaginal pH, soaps also can't tell the difference between 'good' and 'bad' bacteria so kill it all, thus causing imbalance in healthy bacteria. Tampons contain various chemicals, also while in use they prevent vaginal cleaning while allowing bacteria the perfect place to thrive. Both soaps and tampons pose very high risk of vaginal infections such as Bacterial Vaginosis, this causes a fish odour - as BV is a bacterial infection it requires antibiotics to treat, if you have symptoms of BV see your doctor.

Only ever wash with water, and switch from tampons to menstrual cups.

Does it hurt to put a tampon in while your not on your period?

It probably would be a bit uncomfortable, and not a good idea. Your vagina won't be lubricated enough to put it in easily, and I've read that you shouldn't put one in on anticipation of your period. :)

I have my period and i want to switch from pads to tampons I have some and don't what to ask my mom how to use them How should i use a tampon without an applicator?

If you don't know how to use tampons it's best that you don't - learn more about tampon use, tampon risks, and the precautions you need to follow to reduce your risks. You also don't go from pads to tampons, when you use tampons you still have to use pads: before your period, on light days, overnight while sleeping, if you have a vaginal infections, and it's best to alternate with pads. Consider safer options like menstrual cups or softcups, but if still determined to use tampons then just talk to your mom and she'll help you learn more - it's your responsibility to learn correct tampon use.

Do women get pleasure from tampons?

No, women do not get any pleasure from using tampons.

Tampons are not pleasurable to insert or use as they are dry and absorbent, which causes vaginal irritation, there is nothing sexual about tampon use. Vaginal insertion/penetration alone rarely feels pleasurable to women because there aren't many nerve endings in the vagina and the vagina doesn't respond to stimulation unless aroused. Tampons don't really stimulate the vagina because they sit high up in the vaginal canal where there are fewer nerve endings.

Can men use tampons?

Men do not have a vagina, so they cannot use tampons for their intended purpose. (i.e. - to put inot your vagina when you have your period, so as to stop the bleeding from leaking out of your body.) If they wished to use them for other purposes, though I'm not really sure what they would be, then men could in fact use tampons. This might not be medically safe or good for the man's health, however, so I would not recommend it.

At which angle do you insert a tampon?

When inserting a tampon angle it towards your lower back (the top of your butt). If you can still feel it after inserting you didn't put it in far enough (almost everyone does this first time using tampons)

Why you use always pad?

I don't use Always pads, I use a menstrua cup so I don't need to use pads at all.

I recommend against Always pads because being commercial pads they're made from synthetics and plastics to limit air-flowmaking genitals sweaty and stopping blood from drying, this increases risk of odour and infection plus they are uncomfortable. Always pads are also heavily chemically treated which can cause irritation, increase odour and risk of infection, and they contain dioxin.

If you're going to use disposable pads it's best to use organic cotton pads such as Cottons, Natracare, Veeda, Emerita, Seventh Generation, or Maxim which are a little more breathable and free from harmful chemicals or bleach so much more hygienic and healthier. Better still would be to consider cloth pads such as Lunapads, Gladrags, or Party In My Pants Pads which are as breathable and comfortable as just wearing your underwear, also more hygienic and healthier.

What happens in you leave a tampon in for 45 days?

Tampons encourage bacterial growth - the longer a tampon is left the higher the bacterial growth so the higher the risk of vaginal infections and toxic shock syndrome, decomposing menstrual flow will also pose risk of blood poisening.

What is the right age to wear a tampon?

There is no correct age to start using tampons, you don't have to use tampons at all.

Tampons are not recommended to pre-teens or teens as even if responsible enough to follow precautions to reduce risks, with lower immunity and more delicate vaginal tissues risks of TSS are far higher in younger women. At very least a woman should wait six cycles before attempting to use tampons so she knows her flow pattern well enough to know what absorbency to use safely.

It's recommended women start with pads, if they want to use internal options it's best to consider safer options such as menstrual cups or softcups, which are more convenient than tampons as well.
