Not very big. Y do people worry bout it. It's just a burn. I'm sure u all have had an iv. It does not hurt as much as an iv. Goes right under the skin. Don't look at it.

I had a DPT vaccine today and i seem to be OK thankfully. The vaccine itself did not hurt but a very quick poke on the arm (honestly).

There is a little feeling of pressure at the point and a little hard to move but that's it, i had my vaccination approx 11 hours ago.

yes, but they need to get shots in order to stop it. if you have an open wound and it comes in contact with soil that is mixed with animal waste, clean it out immediately with antibacterial. but it is safer to make sure that you just get your tetanus shot and a booster every ten years to help prevent it.

As soon as possible. You really don't want to wait because the area that was punctured can get infected and the blood stream has been exposed as well. Go to the ER or get a doctor appointment IMMEDIATELY and get it taken care of, for your own health

Absolutely, if you have not had a tetanus shot in the last several years. However, it's not the rusty nail that gives you the disease. It's the Clostridium tetani bacteria commonly found in soil that causes the disease. The nail (rusty or otherwise) makes the puncture wound and the bacteria is driven deep into the flesh where anaerobic conditions allow it to thrive. It can but it undergoes incomplete tetanus, in this case there is a short period of relaxtion before a new contractian is initiated. The muscle contraction will go up in a wave like line..

the actual shot is suppose to last around ten years, as long as the subject has been treated along the way of their life . that's from what I've read. i recommend that you consult a doctor though .

For a vaccine to work, it has to provoke a response from the body's immune system to create antibodies which would protect you against the disease you are being vaccinated against.

Alcohol does not interfere with this process of immune response, BUT alcohol is basically a poison that the body has to work hard to process. The vaccine provoked antibody response is also hard work for the body, and I don't think it is wise to ask the body to do too much at once. Actually, most schools are now requiring students to get it other wise they will be banned from school. This shot is also not just for students it is recommended for people of all ages.

Your not use to being shot all the time and sometimes when you get more than one shot in the same arm, it begins to swell up. Soon enough before three days the swelling will stop and return to its regular self.
