As for as I know, there is no relation. If you have seen the movie, it doesnt even take place in London. Its just a "curious case" in which Benjamin lived his life. Instead of growing old, he grew young.
Benjamins life began at the making of the clock; however, the clock outlived him into the 2000s (Benjamin died before the end of the clocks life). In the end of the movie; the hurricane K. waters raise around the clock (at the point the clock obviously breaks and stops running due to the water (although not shown breaking)
