In the programme, The man and the blonde haired woman (Main charectos) escape in 2 various ways. The man picks up 2 little girls who are fighting for there own survival and the female ends up with the mans father.
They end up meeting togethor and Taurence, who is extremly angry with the females latest radio broadcast, hunts and tracks them down.
The man and woman take in the new children and act as a family. The main charectors father dies along with his experiment which he was working on to eliminate the triffids.
The African mask was used to apply the triffid poison to a host without killing them. They are then throught to be plants by the Triffids. They escape on a rowing boat to the Isle of Man which is Triffid free where the programme ends.

The ancient Mayans predicted that something very important/ life changing will happen in 2012. So of course the first thing we assume is that it will be the apocalypse. We don't know if the Mayans simply stopped making calendars or if the world will end or if it's all bullcrap :P
