First, you go to Kakariko village. Enter the Sanctuary building (right next to the spirit water) and drop to the basment. Talk to Shad, he will make your Dominion Rod work. Then, go to the Hidden Village, and talk to the old lady, she will give you the "Ancient Sky Book"... you have to obtain all the sky ablphabet letters, do that by using your Dominion Rod to move the large statues that look like owls. stand on the platform they were on, and you obtain the letter.

Once you have "Completed the Book" you go back to Kakariko village, Go back to the Sanctuary, and talk to Shad again, he will read the book, about 10 seconds later, the piece that covered part of the owl statue will disappear. Use your Dominion Rod to move the statue, and enter the cavern. Inside you will see the remains of a cannon that fell apart. Try to phase into a wolf, (this will be unsuccessful) then talk to Shad, he will go away, letting you transform into a wolf. Have Midna warp the cannon to Lake Hylia. Once there, transform back into a human, and talk to the cannon guy Fyer, (the guy that looks like a homless clown...) talk to him, and click on "Cannon Repair" the price is 300 ruppees. ( recommend watching the cutscene) he finishes repairing it in a matter of seconds. when finished, it's all yours! Use your clawshot to get in... A monkey will come and steal your lantern, but is actually lighting your way through the poisonous gases, so stick close to the monkey. You will come to a clearing and the monkey will run away, but leave your lantern with no oil. That clearing will lead to the Forest Temple. There is a stand before you get to the temple where you can get more lantern oil and red potions, and it's kind of funny because its run by a bird and if you short him from the total cost of your goods he'll attack you and call you a dirty rotten hooligan... sorta. When you get near the temple the golden wolf will teach you a sword move. The boss of this temple is the monkey that gives you the gale boomerang.

It is possible that there was a planned event that was scrapped before release, or it is there simply as a reference to past games' events (such as Majora's Mask's Carnival of Time on the fourth day). There are no 'occasional holidays' during Twilight Princess, so it could simply mean Barnes' business closes on Hylian holidays that aren't currently known in the Zelda fanbase.

In Hyrule Castle Town, go to the place where the Gorons are selling hot springwater. Next to them there should be an exit there. Go near the place where another Goron is standing. Wait until Nightfall and the stalhounds should come out. TIP: Use wolf Link's/Midna's spin attack to kill them.
