How do you get a sim 3 to move in?
You have to have a really strong relationship with them. Either a Good Friend or higher. Maybe less if they're a romantic interest. You just have to keep talking to them to the point they feel very friendly with you and are very comfortable around you. Keep in mind, if you stop talking to them for a while, go to do something else, or if they leave, the mood resets and you'll have to start all over again to get them very comfortable with you.
After around six or so successful friendly social interactions in a row, they should be comfortable enough that you can get the option to have them move in with you. This option will not only allow them to move in, but anyone in their household (including being able to move in everyone but the person you're talking to, if you want) and also allows you to change your household's name. You only can't use this to move into their house. It only works for your home and you have to be at home in order for it to come up as an option.
