You accidetly deleated all your programs on your TI-84 calulator how do you get them back?
Once a program has been deleted on a TI-84, it is no longer in the calculator's memory. You would have to get the program from where you got it, or, if you programmed it, remake the program.
In order to type an exponent, use the carrot sign. (It looks like ^ and is under CLEAR.) For example 58 would be 5^8.
How can you put games on a ti-84 calculator?

What is the fraction sign on TI-84 calculator?
The easiest way to input a fraction while calculating is to simply divide the top of the fraction by the bottom. So four fifths would be (4/5). To convert an answer into a fraction, such as .125, press the math button and select >Frac. .125>frac = (1/8)
How do I find the y values from a function that i inputed under stat edit on my ti-84 plus?
This answer assumes that the x-values are in list 1. If there are in another list, substitute that list's name for L1.
Type the formula for the y-value in on the home screen, but type L1 instead of x. For example, if the formula is y = 3x + 2, type 3*L1+ 2. The y-values will show up. Use the left and right arrow keys to scroll through them. If you want to compare the lists side by side, type Ans -> (the arrow is the STO> button) L2. Then press STAT and select Edit...
How do you graph using the ti-84 intersect function?

It is an improvement upon previous models of calculators, and the Silver Edition is just a fancy way of saying it is better. The TI 84 plus Silver Edition is a graphing calculator with a relatively large memory capacity and relatively fast processor.
How do you find cot on your Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus calculator?
The TI-83 does not have the cot button, however, if you type 1/tan( then this will work the same as the cot since cot=1/tan.
The other way to do this is to type (cos(x))/(sin(x)) where x is the angle you're looking for. This works because cot=cos/sin
Why won't my TI-84 plus silver edition turn on?
First, it could be flat out broken, in which case you will need a new one. Check if this is the case by first making sure there are new batteries in the calculator. Second, make sure your screen is not just really bright. To do this, push the on button and then repeatedly push the 2nd and then up arrow to make the screen darker. If this doesn't work after a short time, its not the problem. You could finally try to turn on your calculator by resetting it. This involves taking out the batteries for a few minutes. If that doesn't work, your calculator appears busted and you probably need a new one.
Press MODE. The second line will say FLOAT and then have the numbers 1-9. If FLOAT is selected, the calculator will not round. If a number is selected, the calculator will round to that number of decimal places. For example, if you wanted to round everything to 3 decimal places, you would select "3".
You can also use the round command. To get to it, press MATH, select NUM and the top and choose the second option, "round(". Type the number and then the decimal place you want to round to, separated by a comma. For example, if you wanted to round 2.569 to 2 decimal places, you would type
round(2.569,2)
Where is the percentage button on the TI-83 plus?

If you just need to convert a number to a percentage, just divide the number by 100.
How do you enter a graph of ymx b on a TI-84?
(This will work for all equations that start with Y=)
Press Y=. You will see a list on the side that looks like
\Y1=
\Y2=
and so on. If you want to graph y = 2x +3 for example, type 2x+3 after \Y1=. It should look like \Y1 = 2x+3. Press graph. If you cannot see the line, press ZOOM and choose option 6, ZStandard. If you graph a line that you still cannot see after you press ZStandard, try pressing ZOOM and choosing option 0, (the last one), ZoomFit.
If you get a DIM MISMATCH error or an INVALID DIM error, press Quit. Then press 2nd STAT PLOT (above Y=) and choose option 4, PlotsOff. Press ENTER until you see "Done". Then try again. If you get a SYNTAX error, then you made a mistake typing in your equation. Choose Goto and fix the error and then try again.
How do you use the zero feature on the TI-84 Plus?
The zero function is used to find x-intercepts.
Graph an equation with an x-intercept. (In this example, x2-5).
Press 2ND CALC (above TRACE), and select option 2, "zero". The calculator will ask "Left Bound?". Move the flashing x-like shape to the left of the x-intercept that you want to find with the arrow keys and press ENTER. Then the calculator will ask "Right Bound?". Move the x-like shape to the right of the x-intercept and press ENTER. The calculator will then ask "Guess?". Move the flashing shape to a point close to the x-intercept and press ENTER. The calculator will give you the coordinates of the x-intercept.
What does it mean if a TI-83 plus calculator says invalid dim and won't graph anything?
This most likely means that a stat plot is on, and that a list that the stat plot was using is blank. (If you get a DIM MISMATCH error, it probably means that the lists that the stat plot was using don't have the same number of values.)
If you are trying to graph the stat plot, go back and look at your data in the lists.
If you are not trying to graph a stat plot, then press 2ND STAT PLOT (above Y=) and select Plots Off. Press ENTER until you see "Done". Then try to graph again.

How do you fix a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition calculator?
If you have a message along the lines of "Error, turn of calculator then turn back on," and can't seem to be able to download the software to update the calculator, this really helps.
1) Download IT Connect.
2) Go to the website below to find the newest version of software for your calculator.
3) DO NOT click download. Instead, right click on the link, and hit SAVE LINK AS. Save the link to your desktop.
4) Open IT Connect. It should come to a screen with seven icons including TI DeviceExplorer as an example.
5) Take the link that you pasted on the desktop and drag it into the empty space in IT Connect.
6) Connect your calculator and turn it on.
7) Take out one of the batteries. Then press the DEL key FIRST, then put the battery in while holding that key down.
8) Click on DOWNLOAD and it should take anywhere from 5-10 minutes for the system to update.
9) When the download is complete, the screen should say something like "Validating, Progress 100%" At this point, DO NOT turn off or unplug the calculator.
10) Wait 5-10 minutes for calculator to reset. When it is reset, the screen RAM CLEARED should come up, and just hit clear to remove it.
11) If these steps do not work, try contacting the Technical Support Desk. Here is their information:

How do you find cube roots on a TI-84 Plus?
For example, to find the cube root of 5x5x5=125. In order to have the calculator show the cube root of 125, you need to enter the numbers in the following format. 125^(1/3) If you enter that in your TI-84 Plus exactly as its written above, it should come up with 5 as the answer. Notice the (1/3) at the end. This is the "cube." If you want to find the root of a number to, say, the 5th power you would use the following format in the example problem below. Example problem: 4x4x4x4x4=1024 Format for calculator: 1024^(1/5) Basically you put the number in front, followed by the carrot symbol ( ^ ) with the fraction (1/5), the 5 being the power of the number (the amount of times you multiplied 4 to get 1024). You have to put it in parenthesis and you have to put it as a fraction with the power as the denominator.
How do you find inverse cosine on a TI-84?
I don't know this model, but most calculators have one or more special function keys, which may be labelled Shift, Function, Inv, etc.; you have to press this key before you press the cosine key.
This is correct, you have to press the "2ND" button (top left) and then "COS". You will notice that "COS-1" is written above the "COS" button- this is the function you want.
