No. This is NOT a tick. Ticks must have 4 legs and they never have antennas. This sounds like a blood sucking bed bug. Type in bed bugs and see if it is what you are looking for. They have a large flat body that appears to be black when it is full of blood. V shapes can appear on their back when the blood has only partially filled their body. They grow up to a quarter of an inch long.

A weevil is a black and brown spotted hard shelled bug. Weevils are well-known for being damaging to an array of crops.

In one particualr symbiotic relationship between mites and moths, mites of the genus Dicrocheles infest one "ear" of a moth. The moth's ear has three chambers, one of which is separated from the other two by the eardrum. The mites crawl into the moth's ear to lay their eggs, and in the process puncture the delicate eardrum, leaing the moth deaf in that ear. However, the mites are careful to colonize only one ear, because if they were to colonize both ears, the moth would be fully deaf and would be unable to hear approaching bats. The bat would eat the mites along with the moth.

indeed they can, however it all depends on the severity of the infestation, also indoors they are more of a problem. do a quick search into pesticides that deal with them, these will have to be suitable for edible plants however.

Vaccines are designed to prevent diseases. Ticks are insects. There was a Lyme Disease vaccine for humans, but it had horrible side effects and was removed from the market.

If you have serious build-up in your mattress , they can cause rashes and sneezing. This is why you should vacuum your mattress, and if it's already infested, take it outside on a sunny day, spray with disinfectant and sun for an hour on each side. Best to do this once [ or twice ] a year. You can also use a vinyl mattress coverall with a zipper, but they make some people sweat .

they probably would not die right away but later on they could catch lime disease or some other disease from the ticks biting them

the are mites that feed on plants using a sucking mouth part causing a drop in quality of that plant and potentially killing it. They are a big problem for commercial crop growers and ornamental flower growers.
