the ship had hit an iceburg and it started falling at the front. everybody started going to the back of the boat or they either started jumping of the ship as the ship had flooded, they didnt have any other choice but to jump of the titanic. there was only one surviver. there could have been two, but the boy killed himself to save the girl. she was the only surviver. mostly everyone else had died or either froze to death.

this is what happened on the Titanic ship that is now and still is sunken under the Atlantic Ocean.

A summary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic would be described as a very tragic event which took 1,517 lives. It was a shock to hundreds of people as another name for the Titanic was 'the unsinkable ship'. It had hit and iceberg at 11:40pm on the 14th of April 1912. Four hours later on the 15th of April 1912 the Titanic sank to the bottom of the North Atlantic ocean. It only had sixteen life boats aboard, and none of these lifeboats were completly filled. Life boat 1 left at 1:10am and had only 12 people on board. It could of held fourty people. Women and children were called on to lifeboats first. Two of those passengers were women. Five of those people were actual passengers. The seven people remaining were crew members.

One important event was the accidental ramming of the Olympic. When Titanic's sister ship was returned to the yards for repairs, this delayed the maiden voyage of Titanic, setting her off later - on her collision course with doom.

The reason there werent enough lifeboats onboard was because mr Ismay (The builder of the ship) didnt want to put any more lifeboats on because it made the ship look ugly.

The above answer is incorrect-. They were a kind of buff yellow/brown. Often when prints were made from illustrations the colors were not reproduced well and caused the funnels to look a darker almost reddish color hence the confusion.

The Titanic hit an iceberg which was called a 'Growler'. This is an iceberg which is small in appearance above the water but is really huge under the surface of the water. They are very dangerous and difficult to notice from the distance.

They slept on the lower decks, beneath the water. There were certain rooms that they also weren't let in.

The story of the real Titanic - she was the largest, grandest ship in the world, 882 and a half ft. long. The year was 1912 and she was under Harland and Wolf of the White Star Line. Famous people had boarding passes in elaborate First Class rooms. There were second class and third class. All classes had food conditions. On Sunday the 5th day of the journey, the Irish coast far behind, she was hit by an iceberg. Other ships had sent her warnings of icebergs earlier but they were ignored and hit the ice. Water rushed in killing workers in the mailroom (according to the latest beliefs) first. As the night grew on the thrid class were locked up, preventing any way of them to get out, survive, and have a chance of getting on the lifeboats. All passengers were warned in the beginning but few listened and thought it was a mere precaution. When they saw the water it was too late. Thousands died that night (trapped in the ship) from drowning and others died fron hyperthermia in the frigid water. The boats did not go back until most of the people were dead for fear of being swamped. When they went back most in the water had perished. They were infamous for the great loss of life. The story is one that lives on even 95 years later.

The chief draughtsman of the Olympic-Class vessels was Alexander Carlisle and the master builder was Thomas Andrews. All other work was done in the Drawing Offices, a building on the grounds of Harland & Wolff shipyards.

Back then it cost quite a lot to board Titanic; even if you were 3rd class. First class cost the most, second, less, and the third the least. A single first class ticket averaged $430. The two deluxe parlor suites cost $3,300. Second class tickets averaged $65, and third class tickets averaged $35.

Titanic had no mechanical problems. The water pressure was just too much for the watertight compartments to hold. Some people said if the iceberg would have hit Titanic's bow straight on, she still could have floated.

The ship was on its maiden voyage, April, 1912 when it hit an iceberg and sank. This is 2008 - 1912 = 96 years.

The ship was completely built in 1909 so this year is 2011-1909= 102 years old
