What classification of drug diazepam?
Valium (diazepam) is a benzodiazepine derivative. The chemical name of diazepam is 7-chloro-1,3-dihydro-1-methyl-5-phenyl-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin- 2-one. It is a colorless to light yellow crystalline compound, insoluble in water. The empirical formula is C16H13ClN2O.
How long does a 10 mg Valium stay in your urine?
For benzos allot depends on the body fat ratio and metabolic rate. Approx detection time for single use (urine test) is 7-10 days but 10 mg is not to much so best you can do is to give your self 4-5 days and home test your first morning urine, with highest concentration. Look at your pharmacy places and buy a home drug test kit with panel for benzodiazepines.
Start withdrawing the patient on diazepam (Valium), 15 to 25 mg four times daily. Administer sufficient additional diazepam to suppress signs of increased withdrawal (e.g., increased pulse, increased blood pressure, or increased perspiration). Once a diazepam dose is reached which suppresses signs of withdrawal, continue for 2 days then start decreasing by 10% per day. When the diazepam dose approaches 10%, reduce the dose slowly over 3 to 4 days and then discontinue

How long does it take to withdraw from Valium?
how long does ambien stay in your urine
More info by S-B
If you are asking to see how long it will be detectable for a Urine Analysis, then don't worry. I haven't seen a company or organization yet that tests for Ambien. It is not classified under any of the traditional drug types, and it is non narcotic. It is a controlled substance, but UA tests have yet to incorporate Ambien into their testing.
Can you take lunesta and Valium togather?
I just did and this ambien is affecting me like never before. I feel very wobbly and need to get to bed asap before I do some of the stupid things I've heard you can on ambien. I wouldnt advise it if you need to do anything but go to bed. And I handle drugs well.
How long does the withdrawl of Valium last?
Valium (diazepam) has a long half-life of 30-60 hours in addition diazepam has a number of active metabolites, all of which are benzodiazepines like diazepam. The primary active metabolite is nordazepam (aka desmethyldiazepam), best known under the brand name Calmday (not available in North America) which has a half-life of 30-100 hours. Its other active metabolites are temazepam, brand name Restoril in North America, and finally both temazepam and nordazepam break down further into the final active metabolite oxazepam, brand name Serax and Oxpam in North America. Both temazepam and oxazepam have a modest half-life of 8-9 hours.
Due to the long half-life of diazepam it works for a significant period of time. Most of the effects last about 6-8 hours, after that time Valium and its active metabolites continue to exert very subtle and very mild effects that are often unnoticed. This is part of the reason diazepam is one of the most used drugs in people physically dependent to alcohol, barbiturates, other sedative/hypnotics, or other benzodiazepines. Even once the primary effects have worn off withdrawal does not normally occur for 24-48 hours. Since alcohol, most barbiturates, and many benzodiazepines last such a short time Valium is effective in providing a more slow, even, and comfortable withdrawal largely due to its unnoticed effects from lingering metabolites. On the other hand Valium has fallen out of favour by some physicians since, when taken continuously, its metabolites can have greater effects and rarely people have experienced toxicity due to an over accumulation of diazepam and its active metabolites. However this is not typically a concern in healthy individuals except the elderly.
Normally Valium is prescribed 2-3 times a day although in cases of severe anxiety it may be prescribed as often as four times a day. Generally speaking Valium is most typically prescribed 3 times daily for continuous use.
Lastly people with a greater tolerance to the effects of Valium tend to require increased dosing. However tolerance does not typically occur to the anti-anxiety effects although some develop a slow tolerance. On the other hand tolerance to the hypnotic, muscle relaxant, anticonvulsant, and amnesic effects occur more quickly although some people don't develop tolerance to those effects either.
How long does Valium generally work?
20 minutes to half an hour, full effect in one hour.
The short answer is that Valium (diazepam) has a rapid onset of action, faster that nearly all benzodiazepines. It is effective orally within 20 to 30 minutes. Its peak plasma (blood) concentration occurs between 30 minutes and 2 hours after administration.
For the longer answer:
Diazepam can be administered, orally, intravenously, intramuscularly or as a suppository. The onset of action is 1-5 minutes for IV administration and 15-30 minutes for IM administration, although onset can be faster. Diazepam's peak plasma concentration is 15 minutes to 1 hour for the intravenous or intramuscular route.
Diazepam has a half-life of 20-50 hours, it has several active metabolites most notably nordiazepam, also known as desmethyldiazepam (average half-life 30-55hrs), temazepam (average half-life 10-40hrs), and oxazepam (average half-life 5-20hrs). Diazepam is a long acting benzodiazepine, in some cases diazepam's active metabolites my last for up to 200hrs. For this reason, it is often substituted for other shorter acting benzodiazepines when dosage reduction or withdrawal is desired.
No. Xanax is a benzodiazepine; benzos are central nervous system depressants.
CNS depressants are not drugs of concern to DOT because no truck driver wants a drug that will make him sleepy; if a trucker is going to do illegal drugs he wants the kind that will keep him up all night so he can drive farther.
Can Zoloft and diazepam be taken together?
This would be OK if you remain under your doctor's supervision. Taking both of these together can cause side effects such as dizziness and confusion. Remember that lorazepam is habit forming, and should be taken exactly as the doctor orders.
Your doctor may recommend a good therapist to help you learn how to use healthy coping skills to deal with anxiety and stress. This way you can CURE your anxiety, get rid of the sedatives, and get back to living!
Of COURSE you get the cat to a vet. The reason people are asking for prescribing information is that, it is a holiday, after 5:00, no vets available in other words. I myself AM a vet tech. Valium for cats turns out to be YES in low doses. Don't be so quick to condescend.
Does diazepam make you sleepy?
Yes, it does.
It is even sometimes prescribed for insomnia to take advantage of it's ability to make you drowsy - although insomnia has also been reported as a side-effect in some people taking it for other reasons.
Drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or headaches are known possible side effects. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Is it ok to mix 10 mg of Valium and robitussin at betime only?
Well first of all high amounts of any type of cough syrup will back fire on you and cause you to have the reverse effect. The thinking that if one dose is good, that more than one dose is even better doesn't work with cough syrups. Tend to make you jittery and sleeplessness can occur. of course mixing Valium with the antihistimines and other ingredients in cough syrups is probably not a great idea, but you would probably be ok if a small dosage of Valium. But this combination probably wouldn't have a pleasant effect.
5 mg of diazapam is perfect for anxiety.I have tried 10mg and its to strong. In my opinion when i take a 5mg for my anxiety its perfect.I do not take them every day only when i feel my anxiety coming.
Can diazepam and clonazepam be taken together?
Both of these medications are part of the Bendo family of drugs and are usually prescribed for mild to severe anxiety. Both of these medications have a calming affect that help settle ones nerves and anxious feelings. Usually one of these medications should dull the affects of an anxiety attack but if the dosage is low (Diazepam 2mg for instance, or Clonazepam .5mg) than maybe you need a higher dosage of either medication (Diazepam comes in 5mg and 10mg and Clonazepam 1mg and 2mg). Increasing the dosage would most likely treat your anxiety much better and would not force you to take both Diazepam and Clonazepam together. But if you are in a situation in which you can not increase your dosage than taking both together would be ok, since both do basically the same thing but just watch out for an overdose and the side effects. I take 6mg of Alprazolam (Xanax) a day one 2mg Xanax 3x daily and also 2mg of Lorazepam (Ativan) 1x daily. I have also been on Diazepam (Valium), 10mg Valium 5x daily. I have taken these medications together and have had no problem but the side effects will increase. Also another point to take into consideration is if you have ever taken any of these medications and have built up a tolerance or if it would be your first time taking the drug. If it would be your first time I would suggest that you stick to one at a time, see what each one does to you, the side effects and overall just how you feel. Once you have a feel for both then use your own personal judgment as to whether or not you should take both at the same time.
NO YOU SHOULD NOT MIX THE TWO,NEVER

What is the given name for diazepam?
Diazepam , marketed under brand names Valium, Stesolid, Seduxen, Bosaurin and Apozepam) is a drug which is a benzodiazepine derivative. It possesses anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, sedative, skeletal muscle relaxant and amnestic properties. This makes it a useful drug for treating anxiety, insomnia, seizures, alcohol withdrawal, and muscle spasms. It is also used before certain medical procedures (such as endoscopies) to reduce tension and anxiety, and in some surgical procedures to induce amnesia. Diazepam is a core medicine in the World Health Organization's "Essential Drugs List", which is a list of minimum medical needs for a basic health care system. Diazepam is used to treat a wide range of conditions and is one of the most frequently prescribed benzodiazepines.
Can you take diazepam and amitriptyline at the same time?
Yes you can. They both work well together, in fact I often take both to help as relaxants. Diazepam is often 2mg, however Amitriptyline can be 10mg, 25mg, 50mg. Just be careful how much you take.
Can you mix Valium and marijuana?
It is 100% safe to mix Valium with marijuana, I'm on the mix currently and still feel abit anxious.
No problem, my advice is use generic diazepam and quality cannabis, and avoid alcohol.
Can you break a Valium in half?
It can, but it will not alter it's effect. The best effect will come from swallowing it whole. It is very uncomfortable, to take nasally and you would unlikely feel it at all. Injecting it will give not intensify it either but could lease to blindness or a stroke if done regularly. Cutting a tablet in half and swallowing it is OK. Crushing it and putting in applesauce will give the same effect as swallowing.
Can you take Valium with cipramil?
Not without medical advice.
I know citalopram users from www.nomorepanic.co.uk who have found that taking Kalms (which contain valerian) at HALF the stated dose, helps to treat anxiety. I tried it myself and suffered disorientation and derealisation for about an hour.
While reading up on valerian online I found that citalopram reacts with valerian and taking the two together may caused increased feelings of depression.
