What did the Vikings use instead of cuttlery?

I saw a documentary as a child in Tanzania East Africa in the late '50s - as part of Pre Movie Trailer - where they showed the Vikings travelling on a Viking ship and were served meat and potatoes - the knives they used to cut the meat were sharp and very pointed -alomst dagger like . The meat they were served was very hard

and the ships crew members got into an argument with the chef and one of crew members threw the knife at him with the pointed end alomost killing him. The Captian and the Chef then 'rounded off' all the knives and thus was born the knife we use now - although we have become more civilzed and are able to eat the hardest of all the meats with the steak knives and do not complian!

Whether information on that documentary ws true or not , but it tickled my fancy and have been telling this story to all ever since

Did norwegians fight with the vikings?

Ethnicities are not static. This means that the idea of being "French" or "Chinese" is invented, not an eternal state of nature, and is often determined by localized and immediate factors. The ethnicities and nationalities of "Swedish" and "Norwegian" do not go back to the Viking period and are, in fact, a reaction to the end of the Viking Period when the Scandinavian peoples were finally able to settle into agrarian societies of their own.

Since there are no such things as Swedish and Norwegian Vikings, the question as written is impossible to answer. However, if the question is read to be asking about the relations between neighboring Viking Tribes, these would alternate with the differing needs of the tribes. If they needed to trade goods, they would maintain amicable relations, but if they wanted direct access to a certain piece of land or to avenge a personal grievance, they would attack each other quite violently.

How long did viking raids last?

A viking expedition could last for up to six months. They would start as soon as winter ended, and return before summer ended.

They would sail up and down the coast, trading at the trading centers, then occasionally sailing up river with their longships and raiding a relatively defenseless village or two, getting the spoils of war to trade with.
