The artwork Starry Night had texture within the artwork such as the swirls in the night sky. But I dunno if It really did have texture you can touch. Because, it was an oil painting and those are usually smooth and not rigid or rough.

Van Gogh was a pastor before he was a painter and taught Divinity in an English Boarding school.

On July 27, 1890, Vincent van Gogh shot himself in the chest. The bullet was deflected off of his rib bones and passed through his chest without doing any damage to his internal organs. Van Gogh was able to walk back to the Auberge Ravoux where two physicians attended him. However, neither physician was able to remove the bullet, so the wound was left untreated. Van Gogh died in the evening, 29 hours after shooting himself.

He was 37 years old when he died.

Van Gogh suffered from mental illness. He gave the blood-covered part of his ear to a prostitute he knew, not to his loved one, whom he didn't have. Later he shot himself and died in his room in Arles.

The painting is of a real French cafe, now renamed Cafe Van Gogh. The cafe is in the city of Arles, France. This painting is the first showing a "starry night." The second is a painting showing the night sky over the Rhone River Bridge, also in Arles. The third, and most famous "Starry Night," now in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, was painted in St. Remy, France when Van Gogh was in the sanitarium there.

Vincent van Gogh was buried in a small cemetery in Méry, near Auvers-sur-Oise. His brother Theodore was later buried beside Vincent.

Vincent and Theo van Gogh's graves are at the cemetery of Auvers-sur-Oise about 30 km from Paris.

In 1873 he was rejected by his landlady's daughter in London. In 1881, in Etten, Holland, he proposed to a cousin of his, and was rejected.
In 1882, in the Hague, Holland, he lived with an alcoholic prostitute, who left him after a few months. After that no love affairs of his are known.

In August of 1888 Vincent van Gogh began a series of paintings with Sunflowers.
