Why is triple distilled vodka better than just distilled?
As it was explained to me at the Jameson Distillery in Ireland, triple distillation involves three distillation steps. Distillation involves heating a liquid that has alcohol in it to the point that the alcohol (which boils at a lower temperature than water) evaporates and is captured before it condenses back into the liquid from which it came. Second and third distillations heat the captured alcohol under narrower and narrower heat ranges to make sure that only the alcohol remains. Many impurities are removed by this process and the result is a much smoother liquor.
All Irish whiskey is triple distilled. Scotch whiskey is double distilled and most Bourbon (sour mash) is only distilled once (however there are notable exceptions).
In a taste test many years ago several bartenders were given several different vodkas (without knowing which one was which). Which one won? Pure grain alcohol (200 proof) was the winner. But you can't buy it because 1) it can cause alcohol poisoning very quickly, and 2) it is extremely flammable.
Triple distilled vodka should exhibit the same smooth character as triple distilled Irish whiskey.
How much vodka can you have pregnant?
How about NONE? Really, drinking or smoking while pregnant is not a good idea at all. Other than an increased risk of birth defects, the risk of "aborting", or let's just flat-out say, "killing" the baby increases. So, one would have to ask themself: "Do I want to do what I can to have a healthy, live baby, or do I want to go for that bottle of vodka, and risk losing my baby, or risk affecting its quality of life?" Think before you drink.

How much does one liter of blood weigh?
As an estimate, take the averages: 14-18 pints for an average adult, and the average blood content for body weight is 7%. So, supposing someone who weighs 150 lbs has 15 pints of blood, then 7% of 150 = 10.5 lbs --> converted to grams (2.26 kg = 1 lb) this is 4.65 kg of blood. Next consider that if your blood weighs 4.65 kg for every 15 pints, then one pint weighs 4.65 kg / 15 pints, or .31 kg. If there are 2.11 pints in a liter, then .31 x 2.11 = 0.65. So, as an educated guess I would estimate that 1 liter of blood weighs about 0.65 kg. A better answer is: Density of blood is 1060 kg/m3
1 m3 is equal to 1000L exactly. Thus, blood weighs 1.06kg/L

How can Peureux Perfect1864 Vodka claim to be highest quality vodka ever produced?
They are the only vodka, as far as our research shows, that provides a certificate of origin to prove the quality and purity of every ingredient and batch. They start with proof of where the water is from. The next ingredient is
the tender wheat of the Brie Champagne Region of France. It is well known for the highest quality wheat in the world and the clear spirit that is distilled from this wheat is, as they say "pure beyond comparison." Their distilleries are located in the Vosges Natural Preserve and are the only waters ever used in Perfect1864 . Their claim is they are the only vodka to require certificates of origin and quality for each ingredient and every batch produced. The standards governing the production of Peureux Perfect 1864 Vodka parallel those of France's famous Appellation Control System, which clearly defines quality for the best French wine, cognac, and champagne. The Art of Distallation seperates France from other spirits producing countries. The French methodology ensures quality from the agricultural stage to the purest spirits. The attention to the minutest detail is a mark of the French tradition. Perfect 1864 Vodka is the product of the Art Of Distillation.

I think there are two reasons. First, alcohol consumption was not nearly so disrespected then as it is now, especially in Britain. If a man could hold his liquor, that is it did not interfere with his job, then it was entirely acceptable for him to drink. Indeed, people who didn't drink, like Montgomery, were considered rather odd. And the second was that, however much he drank, it never interfered with his job. Whether his metabolism gave him extra tolerance, or his high consumption allowed him to develop high tolerance, he was never "drunk on the job" so to speak.
There is, perhaps, at least a third reason. Hitler was known to be a tea-totaller. Soldiers are known for their propensity to consume alcohol. Thus, allied troops identified with Churchill and his drinking, while having distain for Hitler and his abstinence.
