- Animals we eat (example:fish) catch sicknesses which they pass to us when we eat them
- When you drink polluted water you can get diseases like: cholera, typhiod fever, diarrhea, and hookworms
- Seafood restaurants have to occationaly shut down due to the loss of fish because of pollution in the water, which also effects the workers (becuase they won't get their pay)
- Water, being the most important resource in life, is being wasted because of pollution.. If we run out of water, everything on earth will die

River water can be cleansed mainly by stopping factory and municipal garbage and disposals from entering into rivers. Bathing at river ghats,idol immersions,washing cloths should be strictly prohibited in rivers. Above all, public consciousness has to be created through seminars,meetings, leaflets about the importance of keeping river water clean.

Groundwater is usually clear and contains little or no organic contamination as it has naturally filtered through the ground which also makes it harder water. This usually requires filtration and the addition of chlorine to make it potable.
Pollution can be controlled in many ways. Filters can be put on cars and factories, people can stop littering and people can not dump waste and chemicals into water.
