Can a mother of the bride wear the same dress to the wedding and a week later to the reception in different colors?

First of all, congrgulations! And second of all, no. The thing is most guests at the wedding pay attention to not only the bride, but the intermidiate family of the bride as well. If it's a money issue then I suggest wearing an older dress to the reception. maybe a more comforatable one if there is going to be dancing. But at the same time it is the reception of the wedding and i suppose you could wear a different colored one. I sure no one will really pay huge attention. As long as you look nice. You should do different things with your hair at the reception tho b/c you don't want to recreate your look at the reception from the wedding. you can wear the same dress in a different color as long as you wear different accesories, hair, makeup and nails. I hope this helps

Why are bridal showers surprises?

Not all are. This is a choice the the party-giver; whether to surprise the bride (or it can also be said the same for baby showers too). This can be tricky however; what if the guest of honor is not looking her best / feeling her best at party time? Somebody has to be in charge of this person to make sure all is going to work out smoothly. Have fun. Always remember, those invited to the shower should be invited to the wedding - tacky to invite someone to the shower when they aren't invited to the wedding.

You cannot miss a ZAFFA. They are so noisy; you can hear them from a distance! They play rhythmic popular music, with horns blasting and full of people noisily clapping and singing. Customarily, there is also the women's distinctive 'shriek' of traditional joy - the halhula (hallelujah?)

When the procession reaches its destination, there is usually a party, more loud noises and then dinner.
