What does 444 mean in wicca practices?
I have been a Wiccan for many years and I will give an honest answer to this: I... have... never... heard of such a thing. It is probably a Christian creation to link "666" (the Devil's number) and 444 together in some way. Take it from me, I have been on Wiccan websites, read Wiccan books, learned different ideas from other Wiccans and have studied the history of Wicca, Paganism and Witchcraft- but never heard of 444.

In wicca does putting a picture of the person you want to love you under a white candle work?
In Wicca there is no spell or methods of "making a person love you." It goes against the Wiccan Rede and is an abomination to the Wiccan faith.
The core rule of the Wiccan faith is (in modern language) "As long as it doesn't hurt anyone, do what you want."
Additionally there are very specific rules about casting spells on an unwilling recipient.
Instead of trying to cast a spell that makes a person love you, try casting a spell that makes YOU more receptive of to love. You might be pleasantly surprised by the results.
Why do people mistake wiccan for devil worshippers?
That is because both religions have a pentacle. However, Satanists have an inverted, or upside down, pentacle. Oh, and Satanists actually don't worship the devil, that is a common misconception. I would explain further, but that is a whole different topic. :)
The actress Catherine Bell who played in the "Good Witch" series, is a Scientologist who was originally raised Catholic.
Do you have to be born wicca to perform magic?
The simple answer is no, anyone can research, study, write, practice and/or perform magic (the manipulation of naturally occurring powers and energies by the hand and will of an ethical practitioner). It take time, patience, and learning, but anyone can do it.
A Clarification
Nobody is born a Wiccan. When a baby is born to a Wiccan family, they hold a Wiccaning ceremony to bring the child to the Wiccan community.
The acceptance into the Wiccan Ritual Circle is not until the "Initiation" into the tradition, or coven.
You don't even has to be initiated to Wicca to practice Magic or Witchcraft, anyone can do if they learn and practice and has the ability to control their powers.
A Pagan Answer
Not all practitioners of magic are Wiccan. Although Wicca is the most commonly known Pagan spiritual path it is a long way from the only one.
Many people practice magic, either as part of their personal spiritual path or as part of their non-spiritual studies.
Conversely, not all Wiccans practice magic.
That said, in most of the pagan paths I know of a child is not "brought into" the spiritual path until he/she is an adult. We introduce the child to the gods in general, asking them all to watch over him/her until such time as he/she makes the decision themselves.
What does the god and goddies do in the wicca religion?
I assume that by 'goddies' you mean 'Goddess', so I'll answer to that.

What is the number of people who practice Wicca in the UK?
The exact number of people cannot be determined because it is a secretive religion. However, some people have participated in studies. Quote:
An unidentified study in 1997 predicted that there were 100,000 practicing Neopagans in the United Kingdom. ThePagan Federation in the UK reported in 1999 that they were currently receiving 100 inquiries a month from potential new recruits
So, if we take the baseline 100,000, then add 100 time the number of months between 1997 and 2010, you come up with a baseline number of 115,600. But such a number is extremely low if you look at the number of Wiccans/Pagans in the US.
"Specifically, the number of Wiccans more than doubled from 2001 to 2008, from 134,000 to 342,000, and the same held true for [other] neo-pagans, who went from 140,000 in 2001 to 340,000 in 2008."
.....
With 682,000 subjects admitting that they were Wiccans or other Neopagans, the true number would probably be considerably larger than this number.
That is just the numbers in the US. If you consider that there is another 200,000 in the UK alone, Wicca/Paganism would have surpassed Hinduism in number of followers.
Is losing your viginity spiritualy signifigant in wicca?
It truly depends on each individual Wiccan and their personal beliefs on virginity. To many the act of participating in sex for the first time is insignificant. But for some Wiccans, like myself, it's a very important spiritual step.
Many Wiccans partake in sex for the first time during Beltane, a celebration that takes place on May 1st. You may have heard of the May Pole, where girls dance around the pole with ribbons. As they dance the ribbons wrap around the pole. This tradition represents the union between two human beings in a physical way. Beltane is the celebration of fertility and participating in intercourse on that day is thought to bring good health and possibly pregnancy to a woman.
Many Wiccans also wait until marriage (or a handfasting ceremony) to participate in sex. Doing this allows the person to truly make a physical commitment to the one they love.
In Wicca sex is considered sacred and beautiful. There is no right or wrong way to participate in it, and you do so in a way that reflects your inner beliefs in the idea of sex. Losing your virgity as a Wiccan should be a comforting thing. Because of this it can happen before or after marriage, on any day of the year, and with anyone as long as you believe you are doing what you feel is right.
What is the best free online wicca school?
I like Witch School (witchschool.ws). You simply create an account, sign up for some classes, read a paper and do a test. Simple! Unfortunately, to have access to all the classes you need to pay them.
Do wiccans believe in an afterlife?
Yes. I'm not positive if this is the beleif all around, but I am wiccan and I believe - as many many wiccans do - that when you die, you return to the goddess to await reincarnation.
This is where I become unsure of what everyone else believes though, my full beleif: When you die, you return to the goddess where you are pretty much in paradise, and when you are there, you can remember all past lives. You stay there until you believe you are ready to be reincarnated, or you can become a spirit guide(the last part is restricted to those who have been reincarnated 9 times i think.)
Hope i was helpful
Can wiccans still worship the christian lord?
A Pagan Perspective.
As Wiccans are just one part of the umbrella group Pagans, and as I any a life-long practicing Pagan, I can only answer this from my perspective.
But, yes. Most of the pagans I know, including a large number of Wiccans, are polytheistic we have no difficulty with revering many gods, including the Abrahamic God.
The difficulty may come from the other side. Most of the larger, "organized religions" are mono-theistic and they have a problem with our more "all inclusive" attitudes.
Who were the first people to practice wicca?
This question has never truly been answered. Many people believe the first organized modern practice of Wicca was started by Alyester Crowly.
But the ideals of Wicca and the traditions date back much further. They go back to some of the first civilizations. Celtics, Druids, Greeks, Native Americans, Norse, and Inca all have had the same common practices related to Wicca today.
Wicca is a diverse religion with no real 'right' or 'wrong'. So in many ways the person who follows the religion creates their entirely own practice. Many modern Wiccans do not even associate themselves with Alyester Crowly or even the first societies who shared the same traditions. It truly depends on the individual person as to the opinion on where Wicca originated.
What are the differences between Alexandrian wicca and Gardnerian wicca?
Alexandrian, founded by Alex Sanders and his wife Maxine, is an offshoot of Garnerian Wicca, founded by Gerald Gardner so the similarities are more prominent than the differences.
It is difficult to write general statements about both traditions as each has covens that may practice slightly differently than other covens in their own respective traditions.
Generally speaking:
Both are initiatory, have 3 degrees, are considered British Traditional Wicca (BTW) and are more formal and ceremonial in nature than say, Reclaiming Wicca. Neither accept or recognize self-initiations (usually).
A few differences: Alexandrians attribute the athame to air and wand to fire (Gardnerians athame = fire, wand = air), Gardnerians make more regular use of ritual nudity than Alexandrians.
Paganism received a lot of harsh criticism in the Bible, but it is an ancient religious tradition that accepts many deities (gods and goddesses) and shows deep respect for nature. There is some evidence that pagan religions have been around for thousands of years in one form or other. A neo-pagan has taken these ancient customs and beliefs and adapted them to the modern world. Some draw upon the traditions, gods and goddesses of ancient Norse or Celtic or Egyptian religions. Others create a new hybrid that combines the ancient and the modern. One of the largest of the neo-pagan religions is Wicca, which is based on goddess-worship and reverence for the earth. Contrary to anti-pagan myth, pagans and wiccans do not worship the devil, nor do they practice so-called "black magic." The chief ethical principal of a neo-pagan is "harm no-one."

When a Hindu person dies what do they believe happens?
Hinduism believes that death is just the end of one chapter in the book. For a soul, there are numerous lives (chapters) which would continue and carry on to the next incarnation. Until the soul realizes its true nature (self), the birth and death cycle continues.
What celebrities believe in Wicca?
You'll find that belief is often of great personal meaning to individuals, and many of said individuals do not desire to share that belief with the world around them. Most Christian Catholics proudly present their religion, but minority religions aren't often as such, because there is the fear of being judged and hated for believing what you believe. I'm afraid you would have to ask the celebrities themselves.
