The Statue of Zeus at Olympia was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It was created by Phidias at 432 BCE the famous sculptor, architect, painter and universitarian who also designed the Parthenon and created the statue of Athena Parthenos. Because it is the youngest volcano in the world, having initially appeared as a fissure on a plowing field in February 23, 1943. After nine years of erupting, it reached a maximum height of 424 meters (1,391.08 ft) above the cornfield from which it was born.

The project of the Palm Islands is well known for it great engineering ingenuity. For that, the manmade Dubai Palm Islands are often to referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. NASA has actually taken pictures of the Palm Islands from space and have posted these on the net. World wide famous people have bought property on the islands.

No single person, disappointingly. Antipater of Sidon (130BC), Callimachus of Alexandria and Philo of Byzantium, drew up some of the most well-known lists. There were, however, a number of others. Most of them agreed on the first six wonders, but the seventh was variously given as the Palace od Cyrus or the walls of Babylon. The Pharos of Alexandria was the choice of Philo of Byzantium in about 146 BC. The original list is usually credited to Herodotus, but he - confusingly - lived in the 5th century BC, well before the construction of several of the acknowledged wonders. The new seven wonders of the world are: Chichen Itza, Christ the Redeemer, The Colosseum, The Great Wall of China, Machu Picchu, Petra, and The Taj Mahal.

The construction of the Colosseum lasted eight years. It was started by Vespasian in 72 and it was completed by by his son and successor, Titus, who inaugurated it in 80. Domitian, the brother and successor of Titus, made modifications. He built the tunnels below the arena and added a tier to increase capacity.

The civilization of Great Zimbabwe was one of the most significant civilizations in the world during the Medieval period. European travelers from Germany, Portugal, and Britain were astonished to learn of this powerful African civilization in the interior of southern Africa. The first European to visit Great Zimbabwe was a German geologist, Carl Mauch, in 1871. Like others before him, Mauch refused to believe that indigenous Africans could have built such an extensive network of monuments made of granite stone. Thus, Mauch assumed that the Great Zimbabwe monuments were created by biblical characters from the north: "I do not think that I am far wrong if I suppose that the ruin on the hill is a copy of Solomon's Temple on Mount Moriah and the building in the plain a copy of the palace where the Queen of Sheba lived during her visit to Solomon." Mauch further stated that a "civilized [read: white] nation must once have lived there."

From the word itself, global means world-wide so it would be world-wide event.

A global event is something that all countries know of. Examples of global events are:

Well, the world can't run out of money because they make money everyday. But I'd imagine the world wouldn't be that great.

According to the New7Wonders Foundation, the Seven Wonders of the World are the Great Wall of China, Petra, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, Colosseum, and Taj Mahal.
