Currency exchange rates are constantly variable. As of September 1, 2014, 10 Egyptian Pounds (EGP) equal 1.40 United States Dollars ($USD).

Australia puts famous or historically significant Australian identities on its banknotes.

The original Australian paper Five Dollar note released between 1967 and 1991, had Sir Joseph Banks (Botanist) on the front, and Caroline Chisholm (Philanthropist) on the back.

The first and still current polymer Five Dollar note released between 1992 and 1997, and from 2002 onwards, had Queen Elizabeth II on the front, and a design showing the new and old Parliament Houses in Canberra, ACT on the back.

The second polymer Five Dollar note released as a Commemoration of Federation in 2001, had Sir Henry Parkes (politician) on the front, and Catherine Helen Spence (Writer and Suffragette) on the back.

The small writing in front of the man's head says -

"Governor Reserve Bank of Australia" and "Secretary To The Treasury" each title has the signature of the individual above it.

All Australian notes have the same writing. The names of the Governor and the Secretary change periodically.

For a couple of reasons.

First, small denominations are needed in great numbers for making change and paper would wear out very quickly. Coins can tolerate a lot of use and generally last anywhere from 15 to 50 years.

The fact that they are a Twenty Pound note makes them worth Twenty Pounds for a start.

All Bank of England banknotes have the Chief Cashiers signature and a Serial number.

As with many banknotes, there may be fewer or more of a particular type of combination of design, signature and specific serial printed, so relative rarity is a factor.

Some banknotes may have had newly devised features such as metallic strips, or the metallic strip has shifted from the centre to the side.

There may be something unusual about the printing process or the paper, there may have been a printing defect.

The note may have been a "Star" or "replacement" note.

There may be something unusual about the serial number in that it spells out a word, such as C01N, or a common abbrevation such as 1OM (Isle of Man). The note may be the first or last of a series and have all numeric characters the same, eg. 000000, etc.

Mint uncirculated notes are always worth more than the equivalent circulated note.

Value depends on condition and denomination. The three denominations issued in 1938 are 1, 3 and 5 Ruble which are worth $15/$25/$25 in mint uncirculated condition, dropping to $4/$5/$7 in very good used condition.
