Most banknotes are made using 'rag' paper - paper with a high cotton content, rather than wood pulp. This is partly used to make the notes more durable, but also to make the process of counterfeiting them a little harder as rag paper is not as common or easy to purchase.

We can only say that it is worth at least $2.00. Some collectable notes are worth more, but you give no information on what type of note, year, or condition. The $2.00 bill is in current circulation- you can get them by asking at the banks.

The last issue dated (from 1998) is worth $35 in mint uncirculated condition. Used notes still retain their face value, being exchangeable in Belgian banks for about 12 Euro ($16).

There are three versions of the 1910 issue German 20 Mark note. The more common have no watermark and are worth $80-$100 in uncirculated condition ($30-50 in Very Fine). The less common example with a watermark reading "20 Mark" is worth $350 in UNC and $150 in VF.

Banks print special markings in fluorescent ink on their notes. UV light is absorbed by the fluorescence and emits visible light. Fake notes are usually printed on cheaper paper which is slightly fluorescent which is shown when UV light is shone on them.

The most common issue is dated 1941. A 5 Yuan note in mint uncirculated condition is worth $15. A crisp circulated one, only $1.50.

Earlier issues, from 1935 to 1940, are worth considerably more.

There are two versions of the 1980 10 DM note. The more common has "(c) Deutsche Bank 1963" on the back and is worth $12 in perfect uncirculated condition. The less common version does not have the copyright notice and is worth $25 (in UNC condition).

Both notes still have a collectors value in Very Fine condition ($7 and $10 respectively) but any normal worn note is worth it's face value - they can still be exchanged for their Euro equivalent - see related link.

There seems to be some unexplained significance to "low" serial numbers within the "A01" series of notes. The serial number of your note is nearly 1,000 lower than the quoted example in the catalogue. The value for "low" serial numbers is much higher.

Assuming recent dates and circulated condition, they have no value above their purchasing power as of 2002, around $5 U.S. Some collectors offer $10 U.S. if it appears to not be falling apart/in good condition as of 2010.
