They were originally cheats for the N64 version of banjo kazooie, when the eggs had been taken out. the reason it says your name will be erased from the leaderboard is because they are considered cheats.

^^yes 6you can rank up off line i am 4th prestige on split screen and 5th on xbox live, but your unlocks do not carry over from xbox live you have to do them seperatly

edit: i believe you can check the "xbox live unlocks" toggle to on, however this only pulls your live unlocks into the split screen, and any xp gained/challenges unlocked/etc wont count towards your live account. (im 85% on this).

You need something called a router. I am not sure if you can just connect the ethernet cable into the computer. If you have a WIRELESS router, you can buy the wireless adaptor for about $100 dollars (new) snd $70 (used). Or you can use the ethernet cable it comes with. The ethernet cable that it comes with is very short (probably 3 1/2 feet long). I got my longer ethernet cable for free, and my free one is about 20 feet long. Wow!
