Are morkie or yorkie dogs better?
That question is based on peoples opinions. Many people think Yorkies are "cuter" but it's really what you decide. In my opinion, I think Malteses are better dogs.
No way, Yorkies are better than Maltese and much more cuter.
Which breed would get along with a Yorkshire terrier?
Miniature Schnauzer, toy poodle, Pomeranian, beagles, Chihuahua, Golden retriever, and of course yorkies!!
Where can you get a free yorkie?
well, it depends where you are, shih tzu's are quite expensive and are quite hard to train(my friends shih tzu is very hard to train and is very big for a small dog!) my friend got her shih tzu from a barn breeder and he was the last one in the litter and he was left as he was not a champain colour. Do you want a champain colour shih tzu or a brown or black one?
If you want a champain coloured one i would guess you would not get one for free unless they really didnt want it, or it was an older dog found in the Friday add, as they are the most popular colour for shih tzu's.
Brown or blach shih tzu's are a lot less popular(im saying generally) and you may get them last in the litter to be sold (depends where you are). As I said it is quite rare if you would get a puppy shih tzu for free, but you could maybe look into a rescue centre? It depends what age, colour, etc you want!
Good Luck!
xx
you would have to get it from a generous friend or stranger or in a box saying free!good luck with that
How much should you feed your 1 yr old silky terrier?
Silkies should eat twice a day. They should be fed three large tablespoons at each meal.
How many yorkie breeds are there?
There is only one Yorkshire Terrier.
Many irresponsible breeders call their dogs, ''Teacup-Yorkies'' or ''Toy Yorkies'', but Yorkshire terriers are already only 3 to 7pounds, so there aren't any 'teacups'.
There is also the 'Biewer Yorkie'' which is simply mis marked Yorkshire Terrier, that, because it cannot be show (its color is a disqualification) should not be bred.
How do you make you parents get you a Yorkie puppy?
Ha ha ha, if your parents are ANYTHING like mine, show them that you REALLY want the dog; you have to earn it. Do things that are responsible like taking care of a baby sibling if you have one, or start doing more mature things, like cooking unless you're too young. Then, keep begging; who knows, you could get one on your birthday, Christmas, another holiday or just out of the blue! I hope this helps, and good luck with your Yorkie if you get one!
Are Yorkshire terriers more expensive than shih tzu's?
To me they are both very cute....
my uncle has 4 Chihuahuas (Chris;Presous;Bella;Mickey)

Chihuahuas:

So u chose but they can both be a teacup
PS. Yorkie are great to have a mix breed.
Shi tzu + Yorkies = Shorkie
Maltese + Yorkie = Morkie
What are some good locations in East Yorkshire?
Some good places to visit in the East Yorkshire county in the United Kingdom would be the Bempton Cliffs in Bempton which is a wildlife area. Another alternative is the Artic Corsair in Kingston-upon-Hull which is listed as a museum.
Where can one find a free Teacup Yorkie?
If one was looking to purchase Yorkie Teacup puppies the best place to start would be a licensed reputable breeder. Those can be found online through breeders associations and usually specialize in a particular breed. For examply a Yorkie breeder is not likely to also sell German shepherds.
How much can a Teacup yorkie weigh?
Teacup pomeranians, according to most pomeranian breed standards and pomeranian breed clubs, do not exist. In fact, you may say that they do but ''teacup'' is just a fancy word that sad breeders and puppy mills use to attract innocent people like you and I into buying sickly and poorly bred pomeranians. These dogs usually cost a lot (thousands, because of their size); not to mention all the medical bills you will have to pay for the sick dog, all the financial and emotional pain you, your family and perhaps even the dog may experience.
I don't want to make my answer too long, so if you do not understand some terminology, you can always google it up and read people who want teacups being yelled at by angry people out there! You can read stories about teacups and even their mothers (who are often small and bred over and over again so that horrible breeders can get the most money from them). It's sad. Trust me, you'll regret buying a 'teacup' pomeranian and you really should think twice. However it's your life and I have no rights whatsoever to tell you what to do!
I am dearly sorry if this does not answer your question, so to answer it, I think ''teacup'' pomeranians are supposed to (according to the people who believe they exist) weigh below the breed standard (the breed standard is 3 - 7 pounds, so ''teacup'' pomeranians are below 3 pounds). Note that most ''teacup'' pomeranians just weigh within the pomeranian breed standard. If you want a smaller breed that looks similar to a pomeranian (but just less hairier), why not try the long haired chihuahua?
How often should you give your Yorkshire Terrier a bath?
well i hae a yorkie and i went to this gromming thing and they said if u wash yr dog lots of times the hair gose all gressy so once a month or when it smells or if its drity is a good time.
Is a Yorkshire Terrier hypoallergenic?
All dogs and cats have pet dander. Some people think if certain breeds of dogs or cats don't shed then allergies aren't a problem, but just like humans whose dead cells come off their skin this is what dogs and cats do as well. This is what causes the allergies in some people. But it really depends on if your yorkie is being washed enough, when they get washed, they dander goes away.
Which is a better dog chocolate lab or yorkie?
Well golden retrevers have good attitudes and are smart but yellow labs are pretty and are quick learners. I like golden retervers better
Are Yorkies hard to housebreak?
I do know that the female yorkies are easier to train than the male yorkies
hope i helped...
Well i have a yorkie and he was easy to train. but after they get about 6 years old they are really hard to train.
some yorkies can. it depends on both dogs personalities. But you must realize not to put them together instantly, let them sniff each other first
What type of diseases can yorkies have?
They can have any disease that any other dog can get. If one of the parents has a disease, then the puppies could inherit the disease too- so I would make sure to ask a breeder about the parents medical history just to be sure that the puppy will be healthy! Also, kennel cough is a very popular disease among dogs- it is an upper respiratory problem and can almost always be treated.
How heavy do Yorkshire terriers get?
7 lbs. is the limit for a showdog Yorkie....anything more than that needs a diet!
What is a weight size for a full grown yorkie?
Well full grown yorkies should NOT be over seven pounds. I do not now about tea cup yorkies though.
Hi there im gonna be really nice about it but disagree with your answer! My yorkie weights 8lb and my moms yorkie is 10lb both yorkies are happy active dogs and certainly not over weight. my moms yorkie is longer and taller than mine and has much bigger teeth than mine too!! Originally yorkies were much heavier than the yorkies that you see today and typically weighted 14lbs!! also depending on which dog book/web site you look at the answer can differ too!!
The correct answer is:
It also depends on if it's purebred or a "toy" or "Teacup" breed. Toys ad Teacups are not pure-breeds, but are actually the runts being bred down to make them small. The Toy and Teacup breed is unhealthy and do not have the same lifespan as a Purebred Yorkshire. My Yorkshires will range from 3-7lbs. They are Pure German lines, unlike the impure breed being sold stateside. If your Yorkshires are larger than this, they are more than likely the largest dogs being pared to mate and are not a purebred show quality dog. This does not mean they are not a purebred, just that they are larger than normal.
how much do yorkies weigh?
My yorkie, Maximus, weighs 9 lbs. Your yorkie is usually supposed to weoght about 11-12 lbs. Ask your vet for more details.
but most weigh a few ounces if they a teacup but if not a teacup they should weigh up to about 6-9 lbs. but some where between a few ounces to about 9lbs. depending on the size ( teacup, tiny, regular, small)
___________
Edit:
A reputable breeder will strive for a mature weight between 4-7lbs. The AKC standards state that a Yorkie must not exceed 7lbs. My Yorkie almost 5 years old and he weighs 6.3lbs.
Do not go for any Yorkies being labeled as "tea cup," "miniature," or anything of the sort. This size is achieved by breeding high risk Yorkies which have very fragile bones and numerous health problems. On occasion a reputable breeder may have a puppy from a normal sized dogs, but they do not advertise them as "tea cup" puppies. Be wary of "standard" Yorkies as well as these can be falsely advertised and may end up weighing 15-20lbs.
A good rule of thumb is that a puppy at 12 weeks will double it's weight when fully mature. A puppy at 8 weeks will about triple it's weight by maturity.
When should you walk your Yorkshire terrier?
As soon as the puppy is able to walk upright on all fours. This gives you the time to let the pup get used to a collar and leash. If the pup is uncooperative use food in the form of treats to sort of pull him along. In no time he will ghet the idea and go with the flow.
How long is the life span of a yorkie terrier?
The average is 12-15 years
However, Yorkies can live for up to 15 years. The reason for them living so long is because they are such a small breed of dog. It is somewhat common if your dog lives for more than 15 years, which is considered "lucky".
How often should you walk your yorkie?
I own a Yorkie, and I tend to walk it every 2 days, for about 15mins each. Also, having a big garden to let them run around in helps it get some exercise.
Let your dog rest after taking it for a long walk, as Yorkies get tired easily.
What are facts about Yorkshire terriers?
In this case the good points far outweigh the bad. The only bad things I can think of is that they have sensitive stomachs and are prone to skin allergies. I could go on and on about the good, but some of the main ones are temperment, cuteness, friendliness, size, etc.
Hi- Poodle dogs don't shed. They are just about hypoallergenic.... Great to have for Folks with allergies. The only way you will get hair off the poodle is when you are combing / raking them with a deep teeth comb or brush.
How can you get your small dogs to go outside when it is bitterly cold outside?
Open the door and gently push the animal out. Then close the door and wait. Just remember, if it's really bitterly cold, try not to leave the animal out for more than around three minutes at the most. Then, if it doesn't work the first time, try, try again every 30 minutes or so. (Give the dog time to warm up.)
