Why might yosemite park have so many high waterfalls?
It is due to the fact that the valley is so low compared to the surrounding cliffs. All you have to have is a flowing water source that runs off of the cliff into the valley to have a waterfall that is thousands of feet high. Also, Yosemite has snow melt and rainfall that provides the water for the waterfalls which can be seasonal if there is a bad year of drought.

I am going to take a guess since I have never stayed in the hotel and only have camped, but my guess ranges from 80.00 to 150.00 per night. I grew up near Yosemite and there are plenty of places you can stay that are also outside of the park. I know Oakhurst has a Best Western as well as other hotels today. If you go to Yosemite make sure you go to the Awhannee for lunch. The dining room is just wonderful and the food is good. The Awhannee dates back to the 1900's so it is worth a visit.
