Is Barack Obama supporting Muslims?
It depends on what you mean by "supporting." Mr. Obama is certainly respectful of Muslim-Americans, as he is also respectful of Jewish and Christian and Hindu and Buddhist Ame…ricans. And as president, he has also tried (just like other presidents did) to be respectful to the governments of Muslim countries. But if your question is about whether he is secretly Muslim, no he is not. And if your question is about whether he has sympathy for Muslim extremists, that is an internet myth, spread by his political opponents, and there is no truth to it. (MORE)

What Muslim education and Muslim background does obama have?
None. Contrary to internet myths, he was not raised with the Muslim faith. In fact, his father had long since left Islam; plus Mr. Obama only saw his dad on a couple of occasi…ons in his life, and his dad was an atheist by that time. While his paternal grandparents were Muslims, he had no contact with that side of the family till he visited Kenya in the late 1980s. He attended a Catholic school in Indonesia when he briefly lived there with him mom and step-dad, and then attended a public school that was run by moderate Muslims and had students from a number of religions, including the children of American diplomats doing business in Indonesia. Mr. Obama was mainly raised by his mother's side of the family-- his maternal grandparents were Protestant Christians, and that is what they exposed him to. (MORE)

In particular, there is a large population of Islamic followers currently in China. There are two main sects of the Islamic religion, which are Shi'a and Sunni. The Muslim holy book is called the Quran, or Koran, and it shares many of the same elements as the Bible from Christianity and the Torah from Judaism.Islam Muslim was created by the prophet Muhammad during his lifetime, which lasted from 570 to 632 B.C. It is said that he was a holy man who had the ability to view spiritual revelations that were sent to him from the angel Gabriel. Most of the original Muslims were slaves, and their conversion to Islam only further caused the ruling class to persecute them. After a period of persecution, a group made up of some of the original Muslims created the Constitution of Medina, which was a set of rules meant to govern Muslims in their daily lives. Both Sunni and Shi'a sects share the same common beliefs about Islam. The main difference between both groups stems from a centuries' old political dispute. After the Prophet Muhammad died, those who believed that the leadership of Islam should be passed down through the bloodline became Shi'a Muslims. In contrast, those who believed that the leadership of Islam should be passed down to the most capable leader became Sunni Muslims.Mecca is the most holy place of Islam, and it is located in modern day Saudi Arabia. Understanding the Effect of Trade Winds
The trade winds have been blowing since the formation of the Earth. They have been an important contributor to the world's economy and ecology. It was not until the last few h…undred years that humans began to understand just how significant these winds are, especially concerning weather systems. Nowadays, these winds are being understood in terms of everyday life. The trade winds are consequential, but they are easily overlooked by the average person; however, scientists have been successfully learning more about these winds over the past several decades. The trade winds blow in an easterly direction, near the Earth's equator and near the Earth's surface. In the Northern Hemisphere, these winds blow from the northeast. However, in the Southern Hemisphere, they blow from the southeast. They are bordered by the westerly winds that blow in a westerly direction. Thus, the direction that the wind blows will depend on which direction the wind is originating.During the "Age of Sail" in history, the trade winds were the primary winds used by captains to cross the world's oceans. They allowed for European expansion and for trade routes to be established across both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans; hence the name "trade winds." The importance of these winds was realized as early as the 15th century by Portuguese explorers. In order to reach the tip of South Africa, these explorers realized that it was first necessary to go out into the Atlantic, towards Brazil, and then down east again at around 30 degrees where the westerly winds take effect. This route was determined based on which direction the wind was blowing at the time of sail. The predominant cause of the trade winds is the Coriolis Effect, which is also known as the spinning of the Earth. As the Earth spins, wind is generated. Close to the equator and close to the surface of the Earth, this wind blows towards the east. As the air warms and rises, the wind moves towards the poles. Thus, the direction that the wind is blowing will depend on the earth's rotation. The trade winds keep cumulus clouds small and decreases rainfall. When the trade winds are weaker, more rain falls in Central America and all tropical regions on the Earth. The dust that blows across from the Sahara Desert results in very red sunsets in the Caribbean and Florida. In fact, when there is a drought in Northern Africa, more than 50 percent of the African dust reaches Florida. This not only affects sunsets, but it also suppresses rainfall, air quality, and the health of the coral reefs in Pacific Ocean that borders Florida. The trade winds affected empire expansion of every European nation; therefore, the winds have had an impact on the makeup of modern-day political maps. Simple winds affected the wars that were fought and the places in which trades took place between different groups of people. The trade winds affect the weather across the tropical regions in the world. These winds have the ability to affect rainfall, crop growth, and natural disasters. The trade winds played a major role in history and still play a significant role in daily weather systems today that affect people all over the world. The trade winds blow at about an average of 11 to 13 miles per hour. However, winds can easily increase to 30 miles per hour. When on vacation in the Caribbean, this wind is felt by vacationers who stand on the beach. It is also responsible for the idyllic shallow clouds often seen by tourists in these tropical regions on earth. (MORE)

The Political Background of Barack Obama
Barack Obama's political background story is a unique one. Having been raised in childhood by a single mother and by his grandparents, he rose from humble beginnings to become… the 44th president of the United States. After attending Harvard, earning a law degree and teaching constitutional law for several years at the University of Chicago, Barack Obama entered the realm of politics. In 1992, Obama became the director of Project Vote, an Illinois initiative meant to encourage minorities to vote in larger numbers. Over the next three years, he served on the board of directors of several community development projects and organizations. In the mid 1990s, Barack Obama ran for the state senate of Illinois. In 1996, he was elected the state senator of the state's 13th district.Obama's work as a state senator was representative of the type of work he has performed throughout his entire career. He reformed healthcare, welfare, racial profiling and mortgage lending regulations in his area. He was also a primary sponsor of a law that increased tax credits for low-income workers in the district. In 2000, he ran for Congress and lost in the democratic primary. In total, he served three terms in the state senate before successfully running for a U.S. Senate seat in 2004. Obama's short term in the Senate consisted mostly of acts and sponsorships that never became law; however, he did successfully add a provision to the Defense Authorization Act that aids military personnel who are discharged due to personality disorders. He also helped Indiana senator Dick Lugar on several initiatives that reduce the threat of dangerous weapons. Obama introduced the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006, which improves public transparency regarding how the U.S. government is spending its money.Significantly, Obama became the first African-American president in United States history when he was elected in 2008. He supported the controversial economic stimulus package in an effort to bail the U.S. economy out of its recession. His most significant action as president is considered to be his passage of the Affordable Care Act, which completely overhauls the nation's healthcare system. Obama also helped repeal the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding homosexuals serving in the military and also publicly expressed his support for gay marriage, making him the first sitting U.S. president to do so. Other important actions by the president include Wall Street reform, increased focus on NASA and space travel and supervising the assassination of terrorist Osama bin Laden. Like many presidents, Barack Obama's political background is highly scrutinized. Only time can tell whether he goes down in history as a poor, average or superior president. Because of his social and ethnic background, his quick rise to the top of U.S. politics is certainly impressive, historic and unique. Barack Obama's background as a community organizer makes him unique among U.S. presidents, many of whom came from wealthy backgrounds and got their starts on the city or state level before heading to Capitol Hill. Weird Political Coloring Books
The Ted Cruz coloring book was produced in 2013, just in time for the holidays, and allows the colorful and controversial United States Senator from Texas to have his name thr…own into the children's book publishing ring. The title is so popular that it has been through at least three printings since its initial release. This book offers many activities for those who wish to color or complete activities, with President Obama and Vice President Biden and their families as the main subject matter. It also contains song lyrics, and was released in 2012.In 2008, children were able to learn more about the newly-elected President through the activities and work found in this book. It was sub-titled "Yes We Did", and reflected the changes in the socio-cultural landscape of America represented by Obama's victory. The 2013 federal government shutdown crisis put many jobs at risk, and left many families struggling from paycheck to paycheck. During this time, a single-page coloring sheet was released by a partisan organization; it portrayed government officials on the top of a pyramid and a family on the bottom, and asked officials to tell the truth. The highly-conservative Tea Party wing of the Republican Party tried to introduce itself and its philosophy to children through two coloring books. The first was released in 2010, and a follow up book was released two years later in 2012.The Occupy movement captured the imagination of America's progressive political spectrum during 2012. In order to give adults a clearer picture of what the loosely-assembled group's goals were within the context of a somewhat-relaxed media format, the Occupy adult coloring book was released that same year. The coloring book did not generate healthy sales in the United States, but did well in overseas markets such as China. (MORE)

The Good and Bad of U.S. Politics
Many countries are at least partially knowledgeable of U.S. politics. That's because, as a superpower, U.S. politics affect the world. But does this mean U.S. politics are all… good? Like anything, there are pros and cons to this political system. You may be surprised to see the electoral college system on the list of "good" if you're one of the many people who see issues with this setup. However, the electoral college system was instituted for a reason. The electoral college system was brought to the U.S. to ensure equality. With the immense number of states in America, and the major differences in size a direct vote would create issues with balance. The electoral system ensures that the small states have as much say as a larger state would. This guarantees that small states are not completely ignored by candidates who would, in another system, scramble to hugely populated areas to get on the good sides of those citizens. Many people also see the current political affairs as a huge step for America. With a black president, and a female secretary of state, this is a revolutionary time in the eyes of many. Hopeful citizens see this as a beginning of opening doors to improved women's rights. Others still see this as another step against the racism still rampant throughout America. Of course, there are naysayers to this optimism.Federalism is viewed as a huge advantage in American politics. As citizens are bound to get a certain amount of attachment to their home state, it only makes sense to provide locals with a portion of the power balance. This continues a connection between state loyalty and national loyalty. This also allows for a certain modicum of experimentation. States can learn from the successes and failures of the politics of other states. Many see the personal attacks of U.S. politics as a major issue. Reminiscing back to Donald Trump's personal attacks and baiting of President Barack Obama are some of the more notable examples. The problem that many people have with this version of politics is that it diverts from the issue at hand. President Obama's personal family history isn't relevant to his politics. Non-Americans can find this strategy infuriating, and tend to see this as a war against two evils if both major political parties are attacking one another. Word twisting is another negative that is involved in nearly every presidential election. This is when a political party takes the statement of the opposing presidential candidate and twists them to mean something entirely different by dropping contextualizing statements. Sometimes this can also be emphasizing specific statements, as well, to over exaggerate the negative implications. Everyone will remember Mitt Romney's "binder full of women" which is something that opposing political forces pounced on. This doesn't just mean the party itself, either. Americans, and even Canadians, took this to use against Romney. This all sums up to a politics of war, rather than simply debate. The two sides refuse to accept differences, which can lead to harmful consequences. Celebrity endorsements encourage this. Going back to the Trump example, Donald Trump used his status to attempt to sway the presidential election into his favor. His desire to turn the country against President Obama was overt. Finally, current politics have seen another issue resurface to the forefront of American thought. Race has never been an issue that has been at the back burner of American politics. From before the time of the Civil War, and even until now, race is a contentious barrier. However, the most recent presidential election saw a tidal wave of blatantly racist and harmful updates on social media networks from American citizens. This inherent racism still present in American politics is one of the largest problems that Americans must face. There is also debate about the pros and cons of a two-party system. This cannot be classed as definitively good or bad as it is entirely subjective. Both sides of the debate have valid arguments that should be considered. If you're looking for change in American politics, it's time to get involved. Since its conception, the U.S. has been through four presidential assassinations. Murdered presidents include the 16th president Abraham Lincoln, the 20th president James A. Garfield, the 25th president William McKinley, and John F. Kennedy who was the 35th president. Over 20 attempts have been made to assassinate sitting or former presidents. (MORE)
