How many dogs fit in a car?

User Avatar

Asked by Gameboy97q

That may well depend on the size of the dog(s) and the size of the car. One possibility is to transport them in a specially designed cage or pet transporter, which would sit in the boot/trunk of the car or just in the boot/trunk itself - provided it's a hatchback. If the latter is the most feasible then a dog guard or dog barrier, separating the dog from the rest of the car, may (also) be required.

Yes, I am 15 and personally have been diagnosed with add and ocd. In 5th grade i was first diagnosed with ocd and had to be out of school for 2 months because it was so hard to stay in school while i had it. I also remember when i asked my therapist if people are ever diagnosed with both ocd and add when she told me yes i was like wow that would really suck. One or two years later i am diagnosed with add. Just to tell you in the long run i think having these disorders makes you a stronger person and in school it might not help you in howmework but i am able to ace tests in all my classes with not even ever studying. Even in 9th grade ive aced many of my exams without studying for even a minute.

How would you treat someone who has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I am one myself and i know that my family find it hard to make things tidy and neat around the house, it can be stressful for them and cause tention between familt members. The best way to deal with it, is to let the OCD person do it themselves and don't interfear with anything. If you don't get it right, it can become hard for them to cope living with you.

Can ocd kill you?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Probably not directly, although there are some expressions of OCD that are distinctly hard on the body. It is certainly possible to disrupt one's physical well-being, and since OCD often involves isolation one could die for lack of competent care, for sure.

The first documented deaths as a result of Obsessive Compulsive Death were recorded as occurring in March 1947, in America. Two well-educated brothers, Homer and Langley Collyer were reclusive men who avoided company and suffered from OCD. It manifested in the way they hoarded anything and everything. Because their hoarding made them targets for thieves, the men set up booby traps. Over time, Homer also gradually became blind, paralysed and totally dependent on his brother.

On 21 March 1947, police were tipped off that there might be a dead body in the house, but no-one could enter because the hoarded goods were ceiling-high and covered almost all the floor space. When a policeman finally broke in through a window he had to crawl for two hours through the maze and tunnels of hoarded goods until he came across the body of Homer, who had apparently died less than a day earlier. It was found that the dead body odour actually came from his brother whose decomposing body was found after several weeks of cleaning up, just a few metres from where his brother's body was found. It became apparent that Langley had been crawling through a tunnel of newspapers to bring food to his paralyzed brother when he was crushed by one of his own booby traps. Being blind, paralysed and unable to fend for himself, Homer, starved to death several days later.

Does marijuana help you if you are bi-polar?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It is common belief within the medical field that marijuana will worsen the bipolar disorder. There are those who swear that the weed has helped them A LOT and then you have those within the medical field who laugh at these people. The sad truth is this, not enough research has been done and most doctors, less you find a very experimental one, would most likely not prescribe you medical marijuana. However, I am bipolar and I used to smoke it on a regular basis and I really thought that it helped me. My anxiety would literally vanish and my mania was pretty much non-exsistent. HOWEVER, I also was under the impresion it was making the depression side of my bipolar disorder worse. I say self medicate yourself at your own risk. I am on invega and wellbutrin and feel better than I have in years. I say stick with what is proven to work rather than something that is a big mystery.

in my other personal studies not only has medical marijuana shown decreases in my weight, anxiety, cholesterol, andhunger. as though eating medical marijuana has proven more efficient.

Is obsessive compulsive disorder a phobia?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a behaviour. Examples include repeatedly flicking a light switch a certain number of times or avoiding stepping on the cracks between paving stones in the street. These behaviours develop within a person usually as a coping mechanism or a way of making their world safe from a real or imagined threat/danger. So OCD can be a symptom of a phobia, but is not, in itself, a phobia.

Why are people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder so argumentative?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Not all people who have OCD are argumentative, that is a stereotype regularly inflamed by television and media.

For those who are argumentative, it may be because their OCD causes them to want to be correct, or their way/opinion 'executed' when they wish, just because that may be the nature of their OCD.

Which of the following is an example of obsessive-compulsive behavior?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Obsessive Compulsive disorder is actually made of two different things.

Obsessions... these are things that run through our minds... we can't seem to make them stop. Some people have obsessions with irrational fears (bugs, heights, public speaking), others with things like being "dirty" or being harmed by another person. Try as we may, these obsessions are usually difficult to conquer without some help.

Compulsions differ from obsessions... a compulsion is a seemingly uncontrollable desire to do something. One who suffers from compulsions may feel a need to gamble although he or she recognizes the dangers, may brush his or her teeth a certain number of times in each direction, turn the lights on and off a certain number of times, or wipe his or her hands between each bite of food.

Can acupuncture help ocd patients?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Acupuncture is receiving a great deal of study worldwide. It appears that some claims that, on their face, seem ridiculous, may indeed have some merit. We can find no information that we consider accurate indicating that it can be helpful in cases of mental or emotional disturbances, but it is not understood how it controls pain, either, which is a well-documented fact.

Accupuncture is not an especially expensive procedure, and it is essentially harmless if done by a licensed practitioner under sterile conditions, so we -- personally -- might be inclined to give it a try. We are not recommending it or making promises.

OCD--obsessive compulsive disorder is curable. firs get into a therapy group, and discuss your feelings with others who also have this disorder. your psychiatrist will give you medications for OCD, and suggest behavior modification therapy with you also. there is hope for obsessive compulsive disorder. (OCD) IS A FEAR OF LEAVING THINGS UNDONE, CONSTANTLY USING REPETIVE BEHAVIOR, CHECKING THING OVER AND OVER, AND CONSTANTLY WORRYING ETC; there is a cure. just take that first step and you will be on your way. you can also talk about your fears and for example, if the paient is afraid of germs, then the touch trash and are not allowed to wash their hands after. after a couple sessions of this, the paient will began to ease at the sight of their fears.
