Just had my turn signal switch replaced, for the second time, on my '98 Chevy Lumina. I paid $260 to a fairly trustworthy auto repair mechanic
If you have the same bulb for brake and signal, brake light power needs to be interrupted by the signal lights, The brake circuit has to go through the signal light switch so the problem could be there.
The hazard button alone can't be replaced. You will need to replace the complete signal switch which is called a multifunction switch.
Some cars have two flashers, one for the signals and the other for the emergency flashers. Be sure you replaced the right one. Also check the fuse the bulbs and lastly the signal switch.
Probably turn signal flasher is bad
Check the connector pins on the housing that contains the signal switch and the headlight switches that connect to the signal light switch these pens are famous for coming loose fron the circuit board thy are soldered to. had to replace my switch housing.
