How can you watch TV on your PC?
Do you want to watch broadcast HDTV on your laptop, or are you wanting to watch archived HDTV shows streaming from a site like NetFlix? To use NetFlix, you don't need any special equipment but you do need to have a good broadband connection that can stream HD content. If you actually want to receive broadcast TV on your PC from an over the air broadcast using an antenna, you might consider a product similar to the TBS 5980 USB TV box with CI slot. This is a simple USB interface that allows you to use your PC as a television.

There is an article at TechLore that can instruct you on how to connect your computer to your TV. The article link is here: http://www.techlore.com/article/10061/ : Most tv's now have a connection to a traditional monitor vable except the cable has to have the pins on both ends.
short answer: yes! you might have to buy a new video card and TV - but once you have the right hardware, you can make it work. "not as short" answer: first, you need a computer with a CD-ROM... and of course the movie on a CD as well as the software to watch said movie. second, you need a video card… that that has a 'video out' and a TV with a 'video input'. connect the two using an rca cable - you can get one at any radio shack. set your video card on your computer to use the video out and set your tv to show the video in. turn up your computers volume! you might have to reference the instructions that came with your tv or video card, but as long as you have the in and outs - it can work. Your TV has to have eithor a VGA port or a HDMI port. Your computer will have a VGA for sure, but you will have to check if it has a HDMI. HDMI has better definition than VGA, so if you computer has a HDMI output and your TV has a HDMI input then you should use HDMI, but VGA also works. VGA is th…e bulky rectangular blue cable that somtimes has screws. HDMI is the slender rectanular black (or sometimes grey) one that probably has gold-like metal at the ends. There are two ways to watch satellite TV channels in your computer: Watching satellite TV in your PC needs software installed in your computer. There are lists of satellite TV for PC which is available in the internet. You just need to pay a one-time payment to be able for you to download the so…ftware. Before you buy a satellite TV for PC software, make sure that you have a high-speed Internet connection running to at least 1 mbps. Take note that downloading a large movie file in the Internet with a slow connection is not fun. Basically, you will not enjoy watching movies if your media player keeps on buffering. One more thing, it is true that they have more than a thousand of channels available but unfortunately, all the movies that you are going to have on these channels are not in English. The channels available in the software are not the live ones; they are pre-recorded from the channels around the world and are stored for you to watch them. They are movies with different languages and not just the English ones. If you have a satellite TV subscription you can just attach a tuner card in your computer to watch your favorite channel in your computer. Technically, your computer will act as your television. These tuner cards have their own software. To be able for you to watch them, just connect the cable from the receiver going to your tuner card and do a fine tune to get signals from your satellite dish. Most of the time, you don't have to fine tune your tuner card. The receiver will be one who will give you the satellite signal on your computer. If you want to know more about Satellite TV for PC, I added a related link where you can find the list of Satellite TV for PC (MORE)
