I suggest that you take it to the garage since you can deploy the air bag accidentally.
1990 with airbags?
My 1990 does not have an airbag. I suggest removing the steering wheel. Then remove the turn signal assembly. There should be 1 or 2 screws holding the switch in place.

Remove the retaining ring at the top of your Chevy S 10 ignition lock cylinder. Slide the ignition lock cylinder out. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the ignition lock cylinder. Reverse the process to install the new ignition lock cylinder.
Answerput your ignition key in the lock turnit to accesory, there will be a small pinhole you will have to stick a pin of some sort in there and then it should just pop right out.

you have to go under the dash and take out the steering column. and the ignition switch should have a wire going down to the bottom of the column coming from the ignition lock.

You will need to attach the wiring harness to the end of your 1984 Chevrolet Blazer ignition lock cylinder. Slide the cylinder into the cylinder slot. Secure the ignition lock cylinder with the retaining ring.
To change the ignition key lock you have to: 1. Pull the steering wheel off. 2. Remove the lock plate. 3. Remove the turn signal switch. 4. Remove the set of contacts. 5. Remove the retainer bolt. The lock will then pull out of the housing.
