First, remove the two dash screws located above the steering wheel assembly. The rest of the dash unclips. Disconnect any electrical connectors and remove the dash. This whole process should only take about 5 minutes. Once the dash is removed, the stereo and the tray below it are held in by four screws in the middle of the center console. Remove the screws and the stereo comes right out. If you check on crutchfield.com, it will tell you which stereos will fit in your Kia - not just the dimensions but it will also tell you if the mounting holes on the tray will line up right. Pretty cool.
