Read the Haynes Repair manual and it states to either use a special tool (looks like flat bar, forked at the end) or to put the crank in the down position, lift a clean shop rag up and directly behind the crank, and pull up until the clip snaps out.
I tried this but still can't see where the clip is that is supposed to be behind the crank.
Anyone else have suggestions??
Slightly pull out the crank and you will see a wire around the hub. This is a retaining ring that looks kinda like a omega sign. We pulled it out with a needle nose pliers. The longer the pliers that easier it is.
if its a manual crank you should be able to use a screw driver as a pry bar, put the screw driver behind the crank at the oppisit end than the longer side, and slightly pry until it pops off, push back on to install!
The question you ask is too involved for a proper answer. You may want to go to a car parts store, or book store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
Almost all window cranks are held on with a hairpin clip on the back side of the handle. You have to push in on the door panel and look behind the handle. The clip is just a wire shaped like a U with the sides pinched in. If it was put on correctly, the bottom of the U should be opposite of handle. You can bend a hook on the end of a nail or stiff piece of wire and hook it over the clip and pull it off. They have a tendency to get lost so don't pull too hard or the clip will fly off. Once you get it off and look at it, it will make sense. To put the handle back on, put the clip back in the handle and just push it on.
door handle removal tool any auto part store in HELP section
You can use a bolt and lock nut, probably 1/4 inch.
Order a new window regulator, and you need to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
It is a good job and there are spring loaded llinkages etc. Get a manual on your car from the local parts store.
Yes, there is a manual to fix a Honda Accord window being off track. A person can obtain this maintenance manual, it is will give direction on how to fix the windows.
You will have to replace the regulator assembly.
Don't know, would like to know.
There is u- shaped flat peice of meltal and it's a window handle clip remover Auyo zone has thewm and they do now cost much! Good Luck!
How do you remove the manual window cranThere should be an Allen type set-screw in the base of the handle. It will be recessed, and you'll have to turn the crank to access it more easily. Remove the setscrew, and the handle slips off of the stud. If the window is down, and it begins to rain, you can roll the window up by holding it onto the stud, and turning, or you can use a small pair of vise grips. Just try not to damage the teeth on the stud.
Sure wish there was an answer to this one.
That should be the window defroster.
remove the door panel and the window crank (if manual windows) , if auto windows remove the piece behind the door handle and unclip it from the buttons unscrew all screws around the door panel with a regular screw driver once you have done all that u will see the speaker remove it with a star head screw driver
check the fuseor the plugin at the rear window or mabey a broken wire
Remove the door panel, then remove the plastic sheeting. Then you can gai access to the window tracking. Remove the two 10mm nuts, that hold the window glass to the upper track. Remove the glass from the door, and install the new one in the reverse procedure.
Trust me there is a clip it is a real cheap wire horseshoe shaped clip, the only way to remove this clip is you need to purchase a tool just for removing clips on window cranks.
look up under the back window through the trunk and you will see them right there.
you prolly need a new window motor... check a local junkyard.
I'd suggest picking up a Haynes or Chilton manual for your car. I'm pretty sure it will show you what you need to know about the window, to say nothing of being invaluable if you do much of your own repair work. FriPilot
