I've done a 94 - should be the same.
The resistor pack from the dealer is expensive - $50 or so - I doubt if they are generic enough to be at a parts store. Consider a wrecker.
It has a head/plug section and a flat "spade" about 2 inches square that goes right into the blower housing (presumably for cooling).
The blower housing is visible/accessible under the passenger dash without removing anything.
Good luck.
Found the resistor at an online supplier for about $30 and it was an easy job if your flexible enough.
The resistor is located in the HVAC blower motor housing, under the glove box [passenger side front wheel well]. Its held in with 2 bolts. Unplug the harness, take out the two bolts and take the resistor card out of the housing. Installation is the reverse of removal. nick.drombosky@gmail.com
i WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE DAUL AIR BAGS ON ALTIMA 98?
the faulty part is actually located in the distributor so you need to replace the whole distributor
First of all there is no Toyota Altima. An Altima is a Nissan. The ECM is a electronic control module which handle all the cars electronic information. Also referred to as your cars computer.
Something called a blower control module takes the place and is found in the hole where you would find a blower resistor, so there isn't a blower resistor in that vehicle. As far as the blower control module is concerned, the module is serviced as a unit. No part can be fixed or replaced. This is not to be confused with the control head in the dash. The blower control module is held into the heater box with two 8mm screws outside the firewall under the hood, where you would normally find the blower resistor pack.
It may only be the resistor pack or the resistor module depending upon your climate control type.
Its under the driver side dash and it is a multifunction relay module. Its not your typical relay.
It's located just above the brake pedal near the steering column
It is located in the center console, underneath the stereo area. I sent my original module to a company i found on google - www.myairbags.com They reset it for $55 and shipped back to me for free!
its located on the passenger side right outside the fire wall (under the hood) just get a new resistor from an auto parts store and replace it. if the resistor is corroded like mine was it could be a pain in the ass...
it is just on the outer case of hvac module, and connected with wiring harness and near to the blower motor of hvac
You have to remove the wipers and the cover that's underneath them. There is a hole on the passenger side that allows access to the resistor from under the hood.
