Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961. He later moved from Hawaii to California to study at Occidental College, then transferred to Columbia University two years later, where he majored in political science with a concentration in international relations. Post-undergrad he worked for the Business International Corporation and the New York Public Interest Research Group. A few years later he entered Harvard Law School, spending his summers working as an associate in Chicago law firms.
He was born in Hawaii in 1961, to a biracial couple-- his mother was white and from Kansas originally, and his father was black and from the African country of Kenya. His father left when he was only two, and throughout his life, his father showed little interest in him. He was first raised by his mother alone, and then his mom re-married. He moved with her and his new step-dad to Indonesia, where he lived for four years. Ultimately, he moved back to Hawaii, and lived with his maternal grandparents, who raised him from the time he was in the fifth grade till he graduated from high school.
Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961; his parents were both college students, one American and one from Africa. He did not have a relationship with his father as a child. While Obama was still an infant, his father (Barack Obama Sr.) relocated to Massachusetts to attend Harvard University. Barack's parents were divorced in March 1964, when their son was 2.
In 1965, Barack's mother married Lolo Soetoro, a student from Indonesia. A year later, when young Barack was five, the family moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, where Barack's half-sister, Maya Soetoro Ng, was born. He attended a Catholic private school and then a public school, which was attended by Indonesian Muslims but also by children of American and British diplomats. (Reports that it was a Muslim religious school are false.) Several political incidents in Indonesia left Barack's mom afraid for her son's safety and education so, at the age of 10, Barack was sent back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. In his later recollections for his book, he noted that he was not unhappy in Indonesia. He enjoyed learning about a new culture and he got along with his step-dad. But he was happy to get back to the USA again.

His election to the Presidency of the United States is probably the most important thing in his life.
One way is that he is the President of the United States, not many people can say that.
His mother, his grandmother, and Professor Lawrence Tribe, his mentor at Harvard Law School.

This is really easy to answer one of Barack Obamas challenges in life was that he had to bacome president! It must have been really hard for him to become president plus the stress in thinking if he won or not. He also has to give a lot of speeches in front of people and make changes. I think he has a really hard job but thats just my opinion.
